In PS 7.0, when you click on an image in the file browse utility it shows a thumbnail with data at the lower left of the browsing window; scroll that info to get your exposure data and more.
I assume CS retains this functionality but I'm not positive as I don't have it.

If it doesn't show it in photoshop, I'm guessing that it's getting lost somewhere before that. Are you simply copying the original over without touching it? What program are you using to transfer the files? That seems pretty strange that there would be no EXIF identifiable by PS.

I do not shoot in RAW format and I still don't see the required photo submission info I need,aperture,ISO,shutter speed and date of exposure when I go to File,File info,advanced,EXIF Properties.
As long as I still have the original photo on memory card in the camera,I can get all this info,however, once I save to a file on computer I can't seem to get the EXIF info I need. I thought there would be an easy way of obtaining this.
If I am unable to get it from PS CS then is there an inexpensive program out there I can buy that can provide this info?
How do most people get this information to submit to DPchallenge?

Photoshop's RAW converter converts the EXIF info for Canon - I assume it will probably do the same for Nikon.

If you shoot NEF, then using the Nikon converter for Photoshop will not give you EXIF data (I'm using that converter because I haven't upgraded to Photoshop CS yet). I'm not sure if the Photoshop RAW converter will convert EXIF info. I'm using iView MediaPro for cataloging, which has a built-in NEF-converter that will read all EXIF-data (ALL meaning everything that's in the EXIF, including ISO, lens info, focus distance, you name it). iView Media can also export all EXIF data into a file, so you can load it into Excel or something for statistics on your shooting habits :-).
The only disadvantage of iView Media is the price, I paid 169 euro for it.

Use Photoshop to open the file in question and go to File-->File Info-->Advanced-->EXIF Properties.

Is there a way to read the required Exif info of my photograph in Photoshop CS? I am having trouble with this. Is there a program that I can put my original photo in that will give me the information?
