I have finally done it! I broke into the sixes! Let's hope this is the beginning of a trend and not a fluke.
Oh and congrats to everyone else too. There were some truly amazing photos in this challenge.

strange, all my comments are great, and my score has been rising but I am still hovering in the 5.4 range.. with 9 comments and 1 favorite..
strange indeed...

I was thrilled with my texture entry and my scores are very disappointing. I'm hovering at 5.2 or so with only 2 comments, both of which are stellar. UGH
I'll go drink some more coffee and ponder the long exposure challenge.

The Agony and the Ecstacy
Whew! I just finished my first round of scoring the Texture III challenge. Looking at my top 30 picks, I have to say they represents some of the very best work I have seen at DPC in some time. Congratulations to these fantastic photographers. Wait til you see the rankings; I know you'll be blown away by the top 10, 20 or 30 photos!
The agony ... is at the other end of the scale as always.

I'm not in love with this score but at least it's creeping up. I should have made sure that my texture was absolutely pleasing....but I didn't read that into the description.
Next challenge it's ALL puppies and ice cream from me......

Oh my! The sheer number is staggering. I've managed to leave comments but it's quite disappointing that I never even got a single one. Maybe because I'm at an average so most don't think it's necessary.

I'm pretty disgusted with it myself. The comments are pretty darn funny. I think people are color blind. Oh Well... I had such high hopes for this one, too.

Certainly it gives credit to the MOST TEXTURED MODEL ON EARTH. "THE ELEPHANT".
The question.... does it reduce the photographers originality, creativity or does it confirm that photomanicas think alike??? |
When I looked at previous texture challenges I saw an elephant as a ribbon winner and thought I'd try that - then I realised 600 people were probably doing and thinking the same, so I went down another path;) |
