Congrats on your D-70...I have never been happier. Had the Nikon 990, then the 5700, and the delay in taking photos, never mind the fact that I couldn't change lenses, held me back so much. Great choice on the flash. I did a large group of folks in a church with poor lighting, and everyone is evenly lighted. it is so worth the money. I got the 18 to 35mm lens, and the 70 to 300 lens, and all kinds of filters too. Love my new camera, and you will too. Have a great time. AJFI a.k.a. Audrey |

Gimme some time to convert another RAW file... I love RAW but it takes a long time to process. Even just to do a resize and save as JPEG. But you want colors? You'll get colors! |

Keep an eye on the Nikon service sites, because in the next month or so there will be a firmware update for the D70 with improved AF etc. Anything new on the D70s that's solely software will be in that update for the D70.

Because for the remote to work properly you need to be in front of the camera or find a way to reflect the IR signal?

Yes welcome to the Nikon club. I used to have a D70 so I KNOW you gonna love it. Canon users will try to tell you about NOISE NOISE NOISE due to the 200-ISO But as I always tell Philip Dyer when we meet, canon needs the 100 ISO to make their pictures as clear as the Nikon at 200..(just joking guys/girls). Seriously .. You will have a great new relation with your Nikon. Good glass is always an asset, Ide rather buy Nikon ED glass second hand than buy Tamron/Sigma but thats just my opinion. I also havethe SB800 and its an awsome flash unit, my manual was in Japanese so a friend gave me a quick run down on how it all works and after 1 year even he dont know all of it yet. |

D70s = slight improvement over D70
D70 = mid level nikon dSLR
D50 = budget nikon dSLR
2 nikon dSLRs are to be released in the next month or so.

I don't think so. I just got a e-newsletter a couple days ago where they were advertising the new D70s, and the differences were a slightly larger screen, the capability for cable release, new and improved menuing, stuff like that.
I don't know. Maybe I'm confused again. |

Yow! Look out for you!! Congrats. The SB-800 is awesome. Though I still haven't quite wrapped my head around it's manual, and I've read it a couple times through.

Congrats! While the battery charges, I suggest reading the manual. That's what I did - I found it did a lot more than I had any idea of!
