I used the ones from the stationery cupboard in the office. My outtakes included some clear plastic coloured pushpins. I also have a variety of pushpins at home which I have bought for previous challenges...

that would just be a tactic to get noticed

But, wouldn't that mean they got through intact?

we would only know if we were contacted, post challenge.

Maybe you'll get lucky and finds a tacks collector!

My price was 100 Tacks for 99 cents. (USD)

Unfortunately, I ran out of time and wasn't able to come up with anything.

I do not think I voted anyone less than a 5 =) Since the challenge wasn't specific, anything that performed a "tack" property got it for me... plus the sailing and horse tack (great creative thinking).

I went to Office Depot to pick up office supplies and found their collection of tacks... I went crazy!!! My tacks costed me $6! Now I have no idea what to do with them... maybe I'll actually start using my bullitin board and tack photos on it? haha

I'm certain from comments made about my image that people outside the UK don't know what carpet tacks are. I had a supply in stock with 'Carpet Tacks' clearly marked on the box so no shopping was needed. I suppose this word definition thing is always going to colour how people vote. If voters outside the UK think I've used nails then the marks will be downgraded accordingly. The only way round this difficulty is for more direction in the challenge instructions - but that would spoil half the fun of finding ways of interpreting the theme. No way round this little problem I'm afraid.

I went to the dollar store and bought 100 tacks for $1.00, 1 cent a piece isn't bad.

Bought a box, made a setup, dog knocked it over... Still finding tacks...

Robt.

STRESSFUL CHALLENGE:
Friday! workday, a little tiny bit of Friday Funnery for inspiration, home with a plan, lost power in middle of the shoot... got the power back 1/2 before deadline (deadline is an hour earlier here)... Popped off the shot, downloaded, lightening fast post editing and uploaded with 40 seconds to spare. WHEW,
Finally food.

I stole mine, got arrested for stealing, put in jail, missed the challenge because of it and ended up seeing a judge today for bail and it cost me $1000 for bail. SO, for the 5 tacks I stole it has now cost me 1 chalenge, 1 day in lost time and approx. $500 in lost wages. I believe that averages out to $300 per tack. I better get a ribbon for attempting the challenge or at the least a good lawyer from DPC. Either way I'm sure I'll stick around.

Heavens, no. I robbed the bulletin board in the kitchen of every tack that wasn't nailed down.

Used the "already been tacked" tacks that have been poking around for a milennia.

I find that old tacks rarely die, they just lay around in the dust and get "tacky"

I bought 20 tacks for 55 pennies but then three hours before the submission deadline, summarily feel asleep exhausted and woke after the midnight deadline to have 20 tacks, no picture and nothing to hang. Maybe there will be a "Tacks: Returned" challenge. Or I will donate them to the "Tacks" Relief Fund.

I tried to capture a balloon bursting.

Bought my tacks, bought my balloons and I couldn't pull it off.

Sad, sad, sad.

So now I have a box of tacks.

I bought only the finest tacks for my entry. Nothing but the best for you guys. :)
