for those of you who like donovan (frankenreiter), you might also like the band that is currenly touring with him--blue merle. they sound a bit coldplay'ish, (i actually thought it was chris martin when i first heard them) but they are really awesome.

also, the new chemical brothers is fab. :)

I like both of them, yes! I have a very wide taste in music, can't you see? Green Day is just pop rock alt and neutral milk hotel is just crazy alt silliness. I wasn't about to make 3 million different genre headers. :)

Yeah, I've always liked the breeders/amps...

Broken Social Scene really good, too. Again, I like them a lot but much prefer Do Make Say Think & Godspeed You Black Emperor (best ever, especially live).

Anything by those constellation/Montreal guys are good...I like the Silver Mt. Zion stuff and Molasses a lot, too.

Mindy Smith - One Moment More

My favorite CD of 2004. The voice of an angel, but not quite as good as Alison Krauss.

I just got to see the Pixies TWICE in concert here in NYC. It was so fantabulous, I can't even describe it. Actually, one of the bands that opened for them one night was Broken Social Scene, out of Toronto - they're made up of a bunch of different bands, including Godspeed You Black Emporer (which someone else in this thread mentioned).
