None of my photos looked desperate...maybe next time I need emotion I should hire a better model!! <:)

Kandyi, It is a great photo, but it really doesn't show despair. Sorry I would have voted this a 3. The cat isn't showing any despair at all. He looks like he is annoyed with you. :-)

I like despair3. Those shadows lead to the guy. You might have cropped it a little more vertically to emphasize the focal point. Like the sepia, adds to the mood.

Here is one of my outtakes. Likely would have done better than the one I submitted, scoring around 'four'.

My submitted pic is doing very very bad (no points, no critiques). So I am thinking how my totally different outtakes would have done. I didn't use them because I felt so bad for those people, putting their despair on display. Please let me know what you think:
