I cannot save as a .jpeg in PS all of a sudden without using save for web (legacy).

File--> save as--> save on computer only gives me .psd, .pbs, .pdf, & .tif.

Anyone else have this issue? Know how to fix it?

Try “save as copy” and choose jpeg in the drop down menu.

Make sure the file is in 8-bit color, not 16-bit.

What the General said. Image>Mode>8-bit. JPG can't do 16-bit OR grayscale.

The last update of Photoshop changed the way you save. It seems Adobe have had masses of complaints and there’s a workaround
This short video should help

I am still wondering why would the PS changed the approach for this? I am not sure if this is aligned to the way I do. it actually added one more step in my over all processing and didn't really reduce the work.

If you watch the video I think you'll find the answers :) They've rolled it back due to the number of complaints received.

Hah, was not aware of that behavior change!
Why oh why don't they beta test these changes instead of using their entire user base as Guinea Pigs, LOL?

Much appreciated! I hated this change, and hadn't bothered to research it yet :)
