I'm in agreement Girish and Paul. With regard to Mac vs PC, frankly its all good hardware and if using a Mac makes interaction with your 'phone easier (it certainly should) then that is a very viable path.

There would be the time that you would think that have been good to go with the macbook. just my opinion :)

Thank you for "your opinion" :-). Yes, I am a bit concerned regarding the "external programs" that may not be possible on iPad. I dabble occasionally in fractals and who knows what I want to do "in the future". The Macbook probably leaves me with more options.
Thank you so much for "helping me to think" :-)

That is a very valid observation - Thank you. I thought the "pen" could replace the Wacom pen,but I think having to work "directly" on the screen so to speak would be very weird - Thank you for pointing this out.

Hi all,
I am a bit of a dinosaur regarding "gadgets". I have a PC and a mobile phone. The phone is an iphone and transferring stuff, even backups onto the PC is a mission.

I don't really do much camera and/or editing on the phone, I find the end quality just not good enough.

Now, Photoshop has increased their requirements on the PC so much, that I can't run the new version on my old PC anymore :-(.
I thought maybe its time to get a laptop, which I would really like, because it would mean I could do stuff in other places other than my office (home office; where the PC is) but more importantly I can take it with me when I travel and actually play with my photos there and then rather than waiting until I am back home.
I am leaning towards a Mac, because that would make my life with the phone easier. I tried a Mac of a friend of mine, quite frankly it was "all the same to me" when it came to working on it. Maybe once I get properly into it I will sing its praises over a "windows" system.

When I mentioned the whole long saga to a friend of mine, he said I mustn't go the laptop route, but go straight for the iPad PRO.
I went today to have a look, its a bit of "all the same to me" (I know its not, and I have read several reports in the meantime, and I think I "get the picture", I am just VERy confused now :-)))

What is your take on it: MacBook or iPad ? (and yes, I know there is a new iPad coming out in June, and yes, I will wait for that one, just to see what it can do :-))

My main use would be: Photoshop and photo editing (the guy at the iStore said certain programs are not available/can't run on the iPad??), getting my email, a bit of Excel, some "Word", internet access.

Thoughts, suggestions, experiences?

Thank you all <3
