Howdy! I had some comments on my entry for the 'Art of 2021' challenge. Hope you don't mind my answering those questions with this post.

This one ==>

This side challenge is where the shot came from - as a result of participating. The photo is actually taken inside a tree line with the setting sun in the background. Moved the camera in a slight arc with a long-ish exposure.

And that's what makes it fun. Keep playing everyone.
Thank you Barry for running this side challenge. Always good to get out and wave the camera around.

Thank you all for participating. It can be difficult to sustain these side challenges.

If you played in the Creative Blur sandbox please feel free to post this badge in your profile. Sorry, it's nothing fancy. :-)

Sorry, I got distracted trying to get ready for the first music practice in five months ... didn't exactly mean for this to turn out blurry ... :-)

Thanks Marion. Appreciate it.

I do like how this one came out ...

Left a comment on yours. I think I'm still dizzy! :-)

Just back from Paso Robles. Here's a quick edit of one of the many blurry images I made down there.

They either work or they don't.
Unlike other forms of photography, I find I'm all in on one side, never in the middle.

Haven't had the camera out much the past couple of days and felt like I've been slacking in here, so on the way to work this morning at 4am it was dark and raining. Sometimes I'll grab a shot for fun with the traffic lights and reflections ... so, figured I could get something "blurry". :-)

The "blur" shot is, eh, ok (not really). Started messing around with it and did a little flip & blend on it to get something a bit more interesting. :-D

Fair enough, and totally understood. Eventually we all find our niche (or two). You have a distinct eye for art. If you're not careful there could be a "in the style of mariuca" challenge on the books! :-)

re Colored Patterns 2 by Ed (efaulk).

Very interesting pattern. It reminds me of the overlapping scales of fish and butterflies, in macro. I'm especially drawn to the transition of blue to orange, or vice versa

Thank you to those who suggested another approach to this picture. This one was shot at f2.8 and 1/15 sec. I had to undo 60 years of training to move the camera while shooting.

As always, comments are welcome.

Responding to Dennis's (EstimatedEyes) wondering how my photo, below, would look in black and white, gave it a go. In Lightroom I put it through auto and added dehaze, clarity and texture, then took it into NIK Silver Efex. There I put it through "Wet Rocks," then the film look of Neopan ACROS 100, and finally gave it a selenium tint.
I like how it restored the birches to its basic actual colors and gave it some depth. However, I prefer the colors of the original.

It would be an interesting exercise to see what people thought this image was if it wasn't publicized what the original subject matter is. :-) Then again, that could hold true to many of the images shown in this thread I suppose.

I agree! The B+W is interesting, but loses some of the mystery. And seeing the two side by side actually makes me like the color better. Not that I didn't like it before. I just like it better now. :-)

Commented on the second and third of Dennis's daffodil images. The softness of the colors is very pleasing, and they allow the mind to drift here and there. Nice.
