How cool is that???

But of course you are!

I just stepped in it all over the place yesterday!

My apologies.

You're in trouble now ... ;-)

The Australian song we learned as kids was "Waltzing Matilda" ... but of course they didn't teach us what it meant ... ;-)

even tho i dont count ..
i have come to the rescue .. lol .. ;)

The title was Australian slang for travelling on foot (waltzing) with one's belongings in a "matilda" (swag) slung over one's back. ... The song narrates the story of an itinerant worker, or "swagman", making a drink of billy tea at a bush camp and capturing a stray jumbuck (sheep) to eat.

Well thank you, though since elementary school I've heard a rather more X-rated interpretation of the phrase ... ;-)

When I was a kid, the song's lyrics were:

Kookaburra sits in the old gum tree,
Merry merry king of the bush is he.
Laugh, Kookaburra, laugh, Kookaburra,
Gay your life must be!

A West coast US guy, an East coast US guy, two folks from South Africa, and a lady from the Netherlands all learned this song about an Australian bird in primary school.

Roz, you don't count. It's a law that you Ozzies learn it as kids! LOL!

I'd long forgotten it, but I remember learning that song at school too.

I love the way they share their food in this video:

Well that's funny...I was born in the Netherlands (Amsterdam) but learned that song at school as a child in South Africa. My parents emigrated to South Africa when I was 4 years old...hahhahar haharhahahaha
