Very nice! I'll bet it's fun to be the neighbor of a horn player. :)

I'm working from home. The office manager here does a lousy job (lots of dishes in the sink, place needs vacuuming) and my coworkers walk on my keyboard when I'm working. I've been putting out food and water for the backyard kitty. She seems nice but a little shy.

we are in lockdown, here NZ so being in the back of beyond we have been spared the worst, the main way the infection runs is returning holiday makers.

I guess we will see how our Prime Minister does as its election year .

I can walk down to the dairy shop, or to the dog park to give Bonnie a run with other dogs.

My daughter works in a pharmacy..and my son in law is a teacher..so we all pull together

Oh my. So much I want to respond to in this, Rich. Stay safe.

Alexa, which our granddaughter's parents gave us for Christmas to facilitate our weekly calls with her, has proved to be a blessing beyond worth. I am still nervous about her and turn her off whenever our calls are done, but they humor me and text me when she wants to call. In addition, I'm serving twice a day as virtual "adult on call" and "story time grandma" for her and her sister AND four times a week as personal reader for her. At 8 1/2 she reads amazingly well by herself and love to do so . . . but NOTHING yet replaces having me read to her in her eyes and so I do.

Otherwise we are fine. Here in Nebraska my husband and I are hunkered down. I get out daily for solitary neighborhood walks, but other than that and once every 3-4 week trips to the grocery store, we are staying home and praying for everyone.

South Africa is in lockdown. You are only allowed out the house to buy food or medical reasons. Some people don't adhere to it at all and violent videos are going around. Problem is a lot of the poor, uneducated population (and we have a large percentage of them), don't understand the whole situation. Its difficult to stick to a rigid regime if you have no clue why you should be doing that.
Anyway, my property is large and I am busy doing everyday jobs and finding things to catch up on that i have been neglecting for a while.
The dogs are a bit confused, but other than that we are good so far.
I don't think I will need to go out for at least 10 days, and then just to get some fruit and veg.

Stay at home, stay safe.

^^This.
We are starting our third week of work from home tomorrow, and we consider ourselves very lucky to still be actively employed. My wife is waiting to see if she gets called to work the testing sites; she has not as yet. I worry about our daughter who manages retail for a large Arkansas-based company, and who is on immnosupressing meds for Crohns. I worry about my wife's parents who are elderly and especially for my mother in law who has respiratory issues.
Our thoughts are with the entire DPC community. Stay safe everyone.

yesterday after 3 weeks I went to costco and yes they have it all controlled, only handful of people they were allowing to go and yes people are still touching left and right and thinking should I take it not. to me it was not right, they should touch if they want to buy stuff. I feel like no matter how much you tell individuals to be careful, they will do the things. :(

Please stay safe!

Anyone in Trenton, NJ area and cannot go out, please message me and I will get stuff for you.

I am now ordering food 5 weeks ahead as ordering online from large supermarkets in the shorter time frame is almost impossible. I managed to get a delivery at 2:30 am (!) for the Easter week but that was after many hours of trying on sleepless nights. It is very tiring.

Hunkering in NYC. Walking our dog three times a day. The neighborhood is pretty empty. We veer away from people, as they do from us. Except Mochi is unhappy with this new regime, especially when it comes to other dogs. This veering, this disturbing avoidance, feels lousy, and so I do try to smile at people and wave at other dog-walkers. Spring is bursting, a redeeming counterpoint to dismal circumstances.
My wife is ill. Because her health is compromised, I must be especially careful not to bring this virus into our home. My niece and nephew, who live nearby, have been our angels. They shop for us and sanitize the food. They offered, rather, insisted, that they go to the pharmacy to pick up medications that await retrieval. I've
been reluctant to prevail on them to do even more, and not least of all ask them to expose themselves in my stead. My sister, though, has convinced me that not risking contagion is of paramount importance at this time. Though my stomach and sense of fairness churn in light of the prospect, today I'll ask them to please gather up what we need. I'm thinking of all the people who are having especial difficulties caring for themselves, who live in areas where medical treatment is unavailable -- the lack of which will surely lead to tragedy.
On our night walk I look at the stars, so distant and oblivious to our plight. Still, it is soothing to know they steadfastly plough their way in this immensity.
Keep yourselves safe and strong of body and mind. Pay attention to science and not to blather. Have faith in our tomorrows.

Hi My Name is Janine/Ja-9....

My family & I (here-Florida) are doing good - so far knock on wood we’ve self isolated from the get go. Many of you know that I’m a hair dresser - well the salon that I rent my chair at is still open (I NEED EMOJI’s - head slap) can’t figure out a way to do a 6’ distancing and be safe and know where or who my clients have come in contact with. Sooo I’ve decided that as of Apr 5th (how far I had paid for my chair rent) I’m going to go get my things from the salon and wave goodbye. I can’t see the sense of me continuing to throw my $$ into this blackhole of rent. I can’t afford it. But - if I save what I have - I’ll be able to go back eventually - it’s been very emotional to say the least - not the way I wanted to quit my career. Or even take a leave of absence.

My SIL has been in training at the Federal Law Enforcement campus in GA - they closed all campuses since someone(s) somewhere has tested positive - he doesn’t know who or where (like they’d tell them - roll of eyes) - soooo thousands have been sent home to self isolate - strictly. Lucky for us & him - they have a trailer (camper) and we have property & hookups that we were able to work out. It’s strict isolation for him. We have a large back porch that we sit on n chat with him outside on a camp chair. We give him food on paper plates - he has a washer in the trailer - and it’s stocked with kitchen & bathroom supplies. His coming out is Apr 3 - he doesn’t deal well with being alone - meaning he’s BORED OUT OF HIS MIND!!!

Youngest daughter lives in Denver - works for Marriott - will be furloughed this week - she’s management and had to furlough 700 of her employees - told them it would be 8-12 weeks until they are called back. BC of her schedule - she hasn’t been able to find sufficient supplies/food. It’s hard to have her so far away. But she’s a big girl - and if push comes to shove my brother lives 5 hours away and she can go there and find shelter & food - he has 17 acres. If any of you know me - I’m a fixer - and this is something I can’t fix!!! Grrr and if push comes to shove - we might have to go out n get her - don’t panic - we have a 5th wheel and can make the trip totally isolated - there n back. I have no idea what will happen to her lease and how long she can pay it with no earnings. But eventually she'll get unemployment.

Whereby BC I’m a sole proprietor and self employed - our income just got cut in 1/2. On the other hand - I have my health (so far) - food in the pantry - family close (oldest daughter - husband in quarantine & G’son) - and a place that I can come whine a bit called DPC.

Stay safe - each of you are dear to me!!!

I have just spent most of the day ordering food online. It is getting very difficult and millions are doing the same.

Cheers Girish but getting a job on the Island under these circumstances is impossible and it happened 2 days before the PM offered the 80% of your salary financial package to stem the lay-offs(no job now so no financial aid other the job seekers allowance).

Am hoping the Island will survive a missed season, holidaymakers double the population of Mull during the season and that the boats will be back out fishing when the restaurants/hotels/pubs open again.

But I'm currently healthy so glad about that :)
