I am looking for a new way to archive and store my images and image data, so would be very interested to hear what other pro photographers use to sort there stock images?

As a Mac user I currently use FileMaker to store the metadata and other image information, and then store the hi-res image files on raided hard drives.
In the FileMaker system I have is full searchable and it lists for each image, the image title, the image code, keywords, orientation, colour format, date shot, release information which stock agency the image is held with and on which hard drive the image is stored.

Im interested in either cloud or desktop options. I have thousands of images and so importing the data again would be very time consuming so ideally uploading the image information to a new system would be via a CSV or Excel sheet.

I would be very interested to hear what you all use.

Well, I guess, welcome!
I'd guess, from reading your current strategy, that you have *way* more than a few thousand images (if you have multiple hard drives full of them). This can be a challenge for any management system.
I'd suggest that you choose a cut-off date and after that date move new work to a new management system, keeping your older work in the old system. For what you do, Adobe Lightroom is a perfect fit, but:
- It's a bit of a learning curve
- It needs to be configured correctly for your intended use
I strongly recommend a good book on Lr, and specifically to read the section on configuration prior to installing it.
