I am seeking advice on how best to fix the distortion in this photo.

As you can see the horizon is straight but the little buildings on the right hand side are not straight.

I have the latest version of Photoshop and assume there must be a clever way of doing this?

Thanks in advance

Very easy in Lightroom, it has Transform function, I had a go and used Guided correction for this:

however you will loose some of the image in the process.

I don't use Camera Raw but as I understand it, it is now equivalent to Lightroom Develop module where Transform lives. Have a look.

PS I didn't resit to do some editing :)

I lost a lot less of the image using Transform->Distort (in Photoshop) and pulling the right side of the image manually. The lines aren't 100% straight, but they're close.

Just to pick a nit, that's not "WA perspective distortion" 'cuz it happens any time you point the camera up, regardless of the focal length. And the issue isn't how "straight" the lines are, but rather how much the presumptive vertical lines deviate from the true vertical.

The easiest way to fix it with a minimum of cropping is to use transform>skew in PS. You can accomplish the same thing with "distort" as Gina did, but it's easier for other distortions to creep in using that tool. Various editions of "perspective" correction tools work also (like the one Margaret chose) but you have to be aware that by default they correct both sides of the image symmetrically, so you need to take the top-center slider and pull it towards one edge or another to eliminate the distortion on the opposite edge, which is why "skew" is the tool of choice here: it works from one edge at a time.

Thank you every one. I will give that a go. Just wanted to be sure there wasn't a secret button I could press and it would automatically fix it.

@Margaret - nice edit thanks. Just trying to put 12 landscape photos together for a calendar and this one seemed to have potential. You have given me food for thought with the editing I could attempt.

And thank you Robert for correcting me.
