4.75 after 4 votes. I give up. I clearly don’t understand what the voters on here like.

Giving up is for quitters, you’ll figure it out eventually if you stay here long enough, you need to study what does well and then it will just click :-) Mines not doing that much better either, but I don’t really look at those early votes as an indication of the end.

Mine's all over the place.

4.6667 after 3 votes, then up to 5.6 after 5 votes. Now it's dropping again.

It's not over complicated unless you overthink it.

I don’t think it’s over complicated at all. I will not mark down the photos that have people in it, neither will I markdown the photos showing just architecture, albeit having said that there needs to be some context that comes with a photo, ie, if there are a bunch of people just hanging around each other and not particularly photographed in the right context - as in - amongst a group of homes - then they probably won’t get a high mark from me.

This is so totally true, it’s better to have no expectations.... Great expectations sometimes delude the mind, I have definitely noticed this from the time I’ve been with DPC.

Neighborhood is a happy term to me.

I think this is why discussing a challenge beforehand is very important.

Hopefully to help/encourage people be more open to varying interpretations of what "meets the challenge" ...

I've got mine in. It may or may not meet voters' approval. We'll see.

I too hope it will not be full of depressing neighborhoods, why are people attracted to that, beauty me is far more superior.

I think the voters will like my entry and it’s not depressing. I will be surprised if it doesn’t do well (I hope).

I've a horrible feeling mine is DNMC. Nothing I can do about that now.

FWIW I think in some places what some call a "neighborhood" may be referred to as a "district."

Totally agree.

Otherwise this challenge would’ve been called “neighbours”, then obviously we would’ve photographed people...imho.

To me a neighbourhood is the surrounding architecture the environment it’s located in.

Which only means 2 or more houses/ dwellings....

Or no houses/dwellings. Neighborhood could mean a gathering of people at a local park or playground. It's what you want to make of it.

I disagree - IMHO, a group of people in a park represents community, not “neighborhood”. By definition “neighborhood” is an area, while a group of people is a community. Calling a group of people a neighborhood, is like calling an astronaut a spaceship.
