It doesn't appear to have any actual rules to why it kicks it out.

Just try as many dates as it takes to let it in.

This is a known bug -- the system will reject dates within a few hours of either end of the submission period. As you note, just enter an earlier date ...

It doesn't allow me to update the title and it says "The date you have entered is outside the challenge dates. Please submit a different photograph that was taken during the challenge dates.", any clue?

Update: If I have exposure date of 17 July or later that is when I get error, if I change the exposure date manually in the site and then update the title, it takes the title.
