Did the modifications you made involve taking the phone apart? I have tried to take an iPhone apart in the past which was a total disaster so I would not be keen to try again on any phone.

The photos you have uploaded to DPC taken with your Asus look very good. Are they all taken after the modification?

I purchased the Asus Zenphone max pro M1 few months ago because I needed 2 cellphones (my other one is a Samsung Galaxy)
I wasn't really impressed by the galaxy's quality of pictures anyhow. Even they claimed it to be a top level camera (for cellphones).
When I started taking mre pictures with the Asus, it was slightly better but nothing exceptional, despite it having the "best camera hardware" on the market. last month I met a person who was shooting pro with his Zenphone only, His prints were awesome, we started to talk and he told me some secrets from someone he knew working at Asus headquarters. The hardware is not exploited to the max with the actual software due to patents. There is however a way to bypass this. I did the hardware modifications to be able to install the required software to use the better camera. I almost fell down after taking the first tryout shots. In many situations the smartphone is easier to use, and the result looks better than what I can get using a dslr.
There are however many shots that are totally impossble to achieve using a smartphone, like cityscapes, night, wide angles, high speed.
