Just installed Luminar 2018. Only £39 with free updates to come. They even promise an organiser in December. Looking forward how it is going to work. I now use it for my Fuji X-T20 raw files because they are not supported in the Lightroom version I use. For me this might be the replacement for Lightroom. And being a NIK user as well I do like the filter options of Luminar. They are quite like the filters I use in NIK, and you can use them in adjustment layers. Read more about this in this link

I guess I'll have to do it eventually. Just wondering if I should wait until I get a new computer because I'm not sure mine can cope with any more.

Thanks. I've certainly read about some interesting features and it would be a big help having a version of ACR that was compatible with my 80D's RAW files. I just hate the fact that if I ever wanted to stop paying I'd have no PS to use.

I still wouldn’t be able to own any of the Ps programs...I never had the $$ to shell out for it. But I do have $10 a moth to spare...it will tak me 5.83 years to pay the equilivant of just 1 program. Pulse I’m 100% updated at all times. I’m not using a version that is obsolete. Yes the old versions will work...but I’ve heard countless times...my version won’t/can’t do that...

I love PsCC!!!

That's not quite true, though: you can keep CS5 on your machine as long as you want. And you can update Adobe Bridge indefinitely for free, so you'll always be able to process the latest RAW files into a form PS can use. Maybe I shouldn't say "always" but that's how it is currently.

As long as I keep my current machine, maybe, but it's not running so well and will also have to be upgraded soon. That's a real problem with CS5 because I got it on some sort of upgrade special from Elements and I had a problem with the activation code not working the last time I changed my computer. Having to get support to fix it wasn't much fun.

And having said that I realise it's a good reason for upgrading to CC because at least then I won't have that hassle again

I try to never "upgrade" unless there is some new compelling feature I REALLY NEED to use or my equipment breaks down. It's been a while ... :-)

Everything I've read indicates that the (old) free Google version of the Nik plug-ins is not compatible with the latest version of Ps. The DXO version should be compatible, or at least if there are bugs, I'd expect they will be sorted out pretty quickly.

Presently I’m using the trial version of DxO...I’ve been using the free versions with the Ps updates...I don’t know what changed but it did..

I doubt I can go back to the free version ...sigh

I received a copy of Corel Aftershot with my last upgrade to PaintShop Pro X8. It supports organizing by folders, which I like because it will work with my existing filing system and it will handle both my Canon and Olympus RAW files. However, I haven't taken the time yet to learn it.

hummm - Luminar looks interesting, I downloaded a trial version and do see some potential. The only challenge I would have is, over period of time all presents and PS actions that I have created I won't be able to use them and have to rebuild all those again with this.

One more thing I noticed full resolution JPG if I do post processing with Luminar and export that to JPG again, the size of file doubles which is equivalent to a CR2 file size with no dual pixel on in 5d M4.

Does it also not run in Lightroom as a plug-in?

Anyway, even one reason more to not go for Photoshop. Now find a good alternative for Lightroom (Luminar?) and I can get rid of the Adobe stuff.

I'm using the free version that Google gave out a few years ago. Corel finally updated PaintShop Pro to support it. Working just fine.

Until tonight I was running the old free version from Google

I still have older version and I am running against PS CC 2019 and all works well. I dont see any issue. Oh and one more thing I am using Macbook Pro 2015 model.

Can you install//run it as a standalone, or only as a plug-in?

2 days ago I was using my NIK software for an entry and today when I moved my picture into PsCC (where I use my NIK) I opened up Venzia, did my alterations pressed OK and it froze up my whole PsCC program...couldn't/wouldn't do anything...I had to do a hard re-boot (shut it down)...tried again...same thing...tried doing a few other editing using only PsCC (no editing software) then went back to Color Efex and it did the same thing...(locked up)

I'm still using CS5 but I've been considering upgrading. If they don't fix this for the latest version I'll have to reconsider because I can't live without NIK.
