hehe! That's okay, I'm kind of hoping you misread and the article is about shutterstock (not shutterpoint), as that site really has my interest and I think it could do well if it's properly supported.

Not sure which issue it was, I'm assuming it was the most recent one. I was flipping through it at work because we got a 'special issue' with a hardcover for some reason because one of our products was tested...I'll have to check for sure, sorry for not knowing the particulars.

I think the cover said something about "DIGITAL SPECIAL" and has special sections on digital cameras, digital tv's and digital something else's.

...for shutterpoint, though?

I've understood all posts except aplasse's to be referring to shutterpoint.com.

I'm one click away from registering, but if I do go ahead it will only be a venue for selling my non-stock photos...the ones I don't want to sell for 20 cents!

I haven't even checked it out myself, really have no reason to...but I know that in this month's Consumer Reports, there's an article in there about that page...so whatever its traffic is, it should be growing from the article.

I'm bumping this, because I'm very interested...from what I understand, their download rate is incredibly low but I would love to hear from some people who have tried this...

Any success?

Here's one that doesn't require a membership:

//photographersindex.com/stockprice.htm

Ok rather funny I’m the first person responding to my own post but I just discovered this section of the site which compares shutterpoint to DPChallenge of all things. Apparently we are comparable to a stock site. Comparision

edited for spelling

I've been reading the various discussions lately about stock photography and without giving my opinion, I was curious enough about some the points raised to start doing a little research. I found a site shutterpoint that allows you to set your own prices. Before you ask, there is a catch in that the site is set up like a membership site where you pay (although low rates) to have storage on their site – there is also a commission rate of 15%. I literally just found the site, so I have no idea yet how busy they are or if this business model is working successfully. I’m sure you guys will be all over it fact finding so I might just sit back and wait for the opinions to roll in!
