After first I thought it was the motion of the items being shot but then I zoomed in and everything was blurry. It has to be the VR in my lens.

I think giant Mike is right: I would definitely think that is the image stabilization. I was trying a long exposure and ghosting and everything was out of focus! I expected the ghost to be a bit blurry, but the camera was on a really heavy duty tripod, so the building should have been fine. When I searched I found article after article saying this could happen if you left the image stabilization on on the lens.

I know that I had it on. So maybe that was it. I'll try it again, hopefully tonight. Maybe I'll get something a little sharper this time.

As for the software, no I haven't. It's been a while since I've done any heavy editng so I'm just using PS for now until I get comfortable with it again. That said, the new challenge "Sci-Fi Celebration II ยท Extended Editing" has peaked my interest... ;)

Thanks for the tip on that VR, though. I will for sure try that out and see if I can make it work! :)

When you had it on the tripod, was the lens image stabilization on or off? If on, that can cause a tiny shake in the image. I have seen it happen, it's not just an old wives tale :)

Have to tried software such as Topaz Infocus or Smart Deblur?

Sent back a PM.

But for everyone here, I did this. It looks like camera shake but I had it on my tripod and used a timer. I don't know what else I need to do to keep it from being slightly blurry. :/

high pass filter in photoshop can do wonders.

I took a shot tonight that for some reason seems out of focus but I know for a fact I was in focus. Reason I know this is because I took like a million shots and not one came out crisp...

It's not "bad" but it's not a stunning photo. I'm going to try and do the same shot another time for this months free study if I have time so I won't post the image here but I would like some feedback on how to make the shot sharper.
