The idea is great.
In the first picture, I find the shadow of the left part distracting. I woould prefer to see it when the color/b&w is splitting the hand but not the background.
In the second, I feel that the colors are a bit dull. Maybe a red instead of the green or the yellow could add.
The third is great as it is!

Interesting idea. I'm not sure if the first picture works. Funny how it feels like 2 halfs of one hand together, kind of skitsofrenic ;D. Third one is very nice.
