So, how's Porkchop?

Is he bouncing around like a new dog now?

Ditto what Robt said!

Wise choice. He will be fine. Hope the recoup is smooth.

Well, he is officially nut-free, and a kinda uncomfortable little guy right now... and no, we did not replace them with silicone :-)

A human perspective on this.... An elderly friend of mine had this in his future with prostate cancer. When removal of the offending organ didn't lower the PSA enough his doctor told him removal of the .... ahhh... "boys" might save his life. After much agonizing he decided at his age they were just getting in the way. After he healed up he was surprised just how much they'd been getting in the way over the past couple of decades. He said it was very.... what was the word.... ah yes, liberating. He died anyway several years later but before that he had a certain spring in his walk. :) I agree with several that your dog will never miss them. If you can't bring yourself to donate the cost, or buy yourself a new lens or camera, I'm available for long term testing of same. :)

Rather than a cone, you might look at petco. they have a air filled collar that will prevent licking, and still allow easy access to food and water.

Maybe you can buy a pair for you, so you have "extras".

It's a men-thing... that about the dogs nuts.
Men are very sensible to this apparently... As if it were their own to be snapped away.
The dog really doesn't care a nut about it. After 2 days he has forgotten all about the anesthetics. After a week he's back to licking them and he doesn't even realize "there's something different".

So, if YOU will feel better him having appearing nuts, then buy them.
But to him it'll be all the same you know...

LOL, no but it would perhaps be appropriate... except to Porkchop, who will find that no, we were not fooling. He's gonna hate that cone!

Seriously though... It's a dog... He doesn't need cosmetic nuts.

But if it makes you feel better...

(It's just a dog...)

I would be more concerned about the temperament of the animal when they are gone.

It can be a surprise that you may not be too pleased with.

Save some dough and get these. Much cheaper. Never rusts, no matter how much they're licked.

Just hand them to the doc that is performing the neutering.

Where I live, the dog of choice is quite often a pitbull, and more often than not, a male, intact pitbull. And I just have to wonder, if I were a guy, would I want a dog whose balls are bigger than mine? Those boys are seriously hung. Seriously!

But that's just something I've been pondering and this seemed a likely enough forum to throw it out there....

The question is really who is concerned with "cosmetic wholeness". 'Cause dogs are, you know, SQUIRREL!!!
