No one would call you revolting. Not when you're armed with a torch, anyway.

my results are ready. I'm just giving the other jurors a chance to review them.

dear stink on ice (peasants revolting) - the word is that it's a comin' tomorrow, like winter.

FYI, the jury's choices were all finalized before turnover, but we are waiting to reveal until this weekend so the ribbon winners can bask in their glory.

Weekend is here... where's the jury's choice we were promised? The peasants are revolting! ;)

I'm in. Hopefully my entry is "arty" enough.

At least you seem to have choices ... I think my entry was chosen from a pool of three ...

You have three to choose from?

Shhhhhhh...don't admit that in public! ;-)))))

Right. That's part of the beauty of digital photography.

Although this makes me think about looking at one of my older dried paintings or sculptures, or pieces of finished fired pottery or framed print and altering it to "fit" into a show's rules by schmearing some paint on it, re-firing it, or reworking it......which...I admit I have done, but sometimes regretted. Most of my wild ones still have yet to find a home or venue.....I think that's why I finally bought my own gallery.

Now.....which one.......... I hope I don't get so overwhelmed that I don't enter again.

Since you need to have the original file available anyway, it doesn't really matter how you edited it in the past; you can re-edit the picture you like according to the current rules.

Let's reopen the discussion for the editing category for this type of challenge.

My most exciting and artistic shots are in the expert rule set, so I pretty much know anything I would want to enter will be automatically disqualified. I also have to go back in my thousands and thousands of files and try to figure out, specifically , for this challenge whether or not I will be breaking the advanced rules........STIFFLING....to a certain degree.....digging back into files to see WHAT the heck I did with each one........

Any chance you are all going to open up the possibilities and let us rip with all the digital processing available to us on computers in a future "Art of...20__" ?

Otherwise I may just enter another photograph of one of my paintings..... and that's not what I want to do.

I tried to get some new blood in the group, but also insisted it be people who can express why they like something. For me, the comments are more important than the selections. That being said, everyone will have equal sway in picking the winners.

A great group of jurors. I look forward to seeing their picks and reading their comments.

Perhaps you would stop banging on about it.......but I doubt it.

I forgive you for your comment.

Very good, you will have some exciting discussions no doubt, and you might learn a thing or too.

All the best.

I'd like to volunteer to be on the jury next time there's a jury group selected. If picked of course ;) but putting my name in the hat.

While I don't disagree that the 800 pixel limit can be constraining, this is like any other opportunity to show off your work: Make your selection with the exhibit space in mind. For now, it is what it is, and we're all on equal footing. As for the 5x7 analogy, there are photographers who contact print 35mm frames and display them. (Granted, Ansel wasn't one of them.)
