Dang! I'm tempted and already own one. LOL

This is an awesome (one-day) deal on this backpacking camera bag by LowePro. One of my favorite features is the hydration sleeve ...

B&H has the big Tamron 150-600 on sale with their "Deal of the Day" (or something like that) ... knocked a couple hundred bucks off. Think it's now $799. Seems like a good price if you're looking for something like that.

I had an email to say that the full release version of Affinity Photo has been released. Limited time offer of £29.99. I believe it's $40 in the US. Order in the first two weeks and you get free Macros. (=PS Actions)

www.Udemy.com has a sale on all of their online courses today only (but I suspect that they'll also be on sale on Black Friday).

It's not just photography classes... it's classes about bunches of topics.

They're either all $10 each or all $19 each... depending on who you are, I guess. (My son got $10, I got $19)

Good point, I ran a analysis of the reviews and it got a "D"

To do this with any product, install the Fakespot extension in Chrome and you can analyze any product you're considering. It looks not only at the reviews submitted, but it considers other reviews submitted by the reviewers.

interesting, I didn;t know about this fakespot check...Thanks Neil and Robert!

Thanks Neil!

to me it looks like total weight is 3.5lbs, I thought somewhere I read that Manfrotto carbon fiber tripods are about 2.7-2.9 something like that, is it so?

Yes, that's true, the Carbon Fiber BeFree is 2.4 lbs and 15.75" folded. But it also doesn't stand as tall, 56" versus 65". And it's $289. The aluminum BeFree is actually lighter than this at 3lbs. And that's $199.

But that's not always the case, the Benro Carbon Fiber Travel Angel is 3.4 lbs and extends to 60". The other specs are also similar to this one, in terms of converting to a monopod and the folded length. And that's $380

The Oben Carbon tripods range from 2.4lbs to 3.9 lbs. So I think it depends on how heavy duty they are and what load capacity they hold. I don't see the rating for the Zomei though.

Not sure it is a good deal or not but definitely a good stuff! I used this for one of my shot and it is sturdy from my perspective!

Fat Gecko Dual-Suction Camera Mount

This is the one I am talking about!

Yeah! Just got one. I had some film in my cart, but didn't want to pay shipping. When I saw this, had to snatch it.

That film is $133 at Amazon, so a great deal!
07/31/2016 11:31:37 AM · #19
That is a great deal! Thanks Neil. You can get a step down ring/adapter ($5 or so) and use the 77mm on the 72mm lens. I've tried this with ND filters. Downside is the lens hood will have to stay off. Positive side, less vignetting.

Holy crap this is a good deal. I paid full price. B+W filters rock! If it were 72mm (since I switched to Fujifilm, that's my biggest lens diameter), I'd buy another in an instant!

I've gotten stuff from them... really well done.

Every time.

Yes, they are top notch, my only complaint with them is that when they have these coupons and I try to apply them. It never takes. I have to call the next day. They always honor it. I guess it's just an extra hoop for a great deal!!!

Ha! I agree... at first glance.

But, I go there every day just to read how disrespectful they are to themselves. Ha!

Their write-ups on their products sometimes have me laughing out loud. They almost beg us NOT to buy whatever it is, some days.

:D

ETA: and... sometimes... they have photoshop contests... Last week for Shark Week, they had folks redo a movie poster to include a shark.

Meh's Photoshop Contest

Don't want the Canon, but thanks for the heads up on the site. The FAQ is pretty interesting!

From one of the comments, I gather that meh.com is the newest project of the woot.com developers.
