hell, i agree with your comment on my image. i'm not saying anything about you being wrong, or asking you to upvote me or blow smoke up my ass about how great i am. this was a bad shot as it was, and deserves to be in the low end/bottom of the pile (actually it shouldn't be here but that's my own stupid fault for not removing it before the midnight rollover the other day).
I've had a hard job voting, let alone commenting, on everything lately and only threadbare ideas for challenge entries. Real life has a bitch of a way of getting involved in plans and that's on me to deal with; but it's true that people are generally less outgoing and more introverted in the winter months especially in a snowy climate; and that can be representative in various things here.
Anyways, i'm going to just shut up for a few days, and see if the changing weather helps improve my mood and creativity.

i'm a "victim" of klkitchens, but i can justify me for my bad interpretation of your language, often i do not understand all the nuances of it...

but I can agree with the analysis, and of course it is absolutely permitted any opinion, I do not find anything wrong ... for him I deserved a two? All right, it's better than no explanation i think.

I suggest we discuss this after the voting period is complete.

With regards to the "Wind" challenge, I found all to meet the challenge. I voted on all and commented on all 73 entries.

anyways, the TL;DR version that won't offend people:
DPC scores are going down lately as a result of lack of serious participation.
Participation is down because of low scores, some challenges that lack originality, and the fact that north america is currently in the middle of winter and not a lot of people want to go outside and shoot photographs for a prolonged period in these temperatures/conditions.

That's just the way of it, and based on how things were when i started last year, and things i've read since in the forums, that's the way it is MOST winters lately.

What's a good way to get people into this site? I've sent messages to all of my friends even slightly into photography trying to get them to participate but no one ever gets into it. KIDS THESE DAYS. It's all that TEE VEEE AND VIDYA GERMS!

Meh...Everyone surely has their own opinion, but if they actually read the description - in this case - taking it literally would be wrong.

Sigh! Some people narrow down and occasionally wrongly interpret the challenge description. Usually, they submit an image in line with their narrow (sometimes assbackwards) challenge definition. Then, they become intolerant of alternative creative interpretations of challenges and distribute DNMC votes and comments... like they are God's gift to the world.

Voters are entitled to their opinions and they can cast their own voting scale. All I'm saying is that some people become myopic.. and then they become religious vigilantes. It would be better if people were tolerant and paid more attention to the photography. But, I do understand that some people do not want to compete on a the basis of the caliber of their photography.

Received a comment explaining why my image was DNMC and that because of my ignorance and misunderstanding of the challenge description, my image was receiving a "2" from the member. Ummmm.... no comment.

Got something similar myself and would rather have this than an anonymous 1 or 2 vote even if I don't agree:)

BAM

A ridiculously low vote comes.
Maybe people should read the analysis by Woodward found in another thread.

You have rated 29 of 29 images (100%) in this challenge.
You have commented on 29 images (97%) in this challenge.
You have given an average score of 7.4483.

I enjoyed viewing all of the entries and really loved quite a few. Highest average score I think I've ever given in a challenge.

Edit for typos ... Autocorrect on this iPad gets me in trouble every so often. Lol

I feel your pain, I forgot to rename to the much more appropriate anchor to my image, and I dislike my image so much the tempation to pull out was huge. In the end the only reason I am still in this challenge is because of the back story on the image which I think the community might get a laugh out of.
