Thanks - I didn't know that was there. And thanks again for your comment. I now have four - three that say it shows wind and a fourth that says it doesn't show enough :)

So are you counting the comments that say they DNMC'd your image or watching the votes and assuming 1's or other very low votes indicate a DNMC or are you saying there are 5 images in the challenge that you think would be DQ'd rather than validated? Just curious.

I don't really care about the scores these days but this is plain silly.

Same here. Much better but still below expectations.

I appreciate the 3 very good comments. While my image score has improved, the "good score" chances were killed very early. The early low votes are hard to overcome. I'm sure no one meant anything personal, but I see the early attack in every challenge.

Thanks Richard! Two really good comments and I'm sitting at 4.59.

Thanks, Richard. My only comment so far.

I have finished voting and have commented on all. I also commented and voted on the two DQd images before they disappeared. Lots of great images. Almost all images in this challenge meet the description. Great job, people!

You have rated 71 of 71 images (100%) in this challenge.
You have commented on 71 images (99%) in this challenge.
You have given an average score of 6.1690.

5 10s
5 9s
7 8s
7 7s
Nothing below a 4.
I tried to ID the birds in this challenge. Not an authority, but just my best guess. :-)

eta: The score on my entry has now dropped to less than my average vote cast in this challenge. It's okay.

Mine most definitely shows the results of wind. It is a bit "out of the box" and the voters are not liking it. I'm in brown territory. And no, I was not going for brown.

My DNMC went away too.

Overall, it was an interesting challenge to vote on. Some images were stretching the limits, I could find no evidence of wind. If there was, it was all but imperceptible. Never DNMC'd any challenges, and tried to play nice. Average vote: 5.8.

I shot with this challenge in mind over a period of three days - almost no perceptible wind on any of them. I got a breeze. My score is reflecting it. 5.3 and no comments.

Fine it might have been windy when you shot it but I wasn't there I don't know that

I think I know and commented on your shot Alex fine if you don't find it helpful but maybe you should, it's not my job to perceive the invisible it's your job to show it to me. There's 2 stand out 10s for me

and I spent 2 hours in 60mph gusts with a 1dx shooting 12fps trying to capture the wind

Looks like I did ok 6.6 3 comments 2 of which I don't agree with as they've clearly not thought about their comment before posting it

it's funny I have 7 comments, lost one though as well, but nowhere near your score...pretty sure I know where I went wrong again, lol!!!

No Giles, you didn't comment on mine :)

I guess I should take a break from voting and have a holiday! ;)
Don't. There's no reason why you shouldn't vote along those lines you outlined above. If you don't like a style, kill it. Repetition, kill it. No flair, kill it. How else are the photographers going to know you don't like what they enter?

There must be something wrong though, because my average just inches, ever so slightly, above yours for this challenge. I must be getting soft.

There is possibly a philosophical difference between me and you two. When I vote in a challenge, I measure the images only against the other images in that specific challenge. Have I seen in my lifetime higher quality images somewhere? Yes! But, those images are not relevant to the current challenge. I haven't finished voting, nor commenting, yet. But, I found plenty of excellent images to reward with high scores. And, the rest I've arrayed into a normal distribution of votes. I don't think I've given lower than a "4", which is close to your average vote cast. To be clear, I think you two prominent citizens are rating the images in this challenge against the universe. It would be more constructive if you looked for the redeeming virtues in each and every image in this particular set.

You have rated 72 of 72 images (100%) in this challenge.
You have commented on 3 images (4%) in this challenge.
You have given an average score of 5.7083.

I will run through the images on a second pass and comment on each one. I see one has disappeared due to DQ. I did comment on that one before it vanished.
