I'm going to be on a tropical island from March 9th to 16th with no electronics. If it starts then I call shenanigans against team Dodge & The Burnouts!

Don't worry if you have to get out of Dodge that week, the Burnouts will cover you.

OK, I'll admit I was getting a little ansty waiting for TPL to start, but this puts things in perspective. Hope you are healing well, Cory. As far as I am concerned, you can take all the time you need.

I blame all delays on your inability to play with fire correctly. :P

I lit myself on fire(see thread), plus I moved 2K miles... :-)

I'm almost able to type easily again, and Epsi and Niall have rocked their parts.. I'm holding this up now, but rest assured that we are quite close, my apologies for the delay..

Yet....with lack of communication and updates it's starting to look like this will not happen. How about some updates and a tentative time frame for a start date?

Better for me to wait, as school is finally slowing down. Haha. This wait has been perfect for me to get ahead before this starts so that when we do start I'll be able to slack a little. Haha!!

Yes it is indeed, I am awaiting the final shout from the guys backstage and we will roll.

Cory has just moved house so that was the delay, the code is in place and works as does the scoring system we are just waiting for the league charts to be completed and we start.

Sorry for the delay but it is coming..

Just a quick update while we wait for MAK to be around. The code that retrieves the Challenges results and calculate the team scores is ready. We next will put the output of this code into a human readable format, this shouldn't take too long once real life gets out of the way.

@Kevin, the result will be posted weekly depending on when the aesthetics part is ready we could start the week on Monday and publish the results each Thursday or in some other order. Take into account though that each "week" of competition will include three challenges (Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday), therefore each competition "week" will acrtually take 11 days. Take the current challenges as an example, lets assume that this "week" in the TPL the challenges were: Simple Pleasures II - Wind III - Technology Underwraps. In this scenario, the images in competition for the "week" would have been submitted between Jan. 28th 2013 (first day of Simple Pleasures II) to February 7th, 2013 (end of Technology Underwraps).

Hope this helps,

Max

Are The Management in a position to let us know what day they are defining as start of a week- Sunday or Monday, or something more radical ;)

It would be a good idea for each captain to communicate to his/her team the following guidelines for viewing and voting:

1. As a team, we will share our images with each other in the preparation stage and take suggestions from each other for improvements. We will NOT vote on each other's images during the competition. Team members MUST show their entered images to the rest of their team even IF they have not shared them for the purpose of suggestions. It is CRITICAL that there be no appearance of impropriety.

2. Because we are on a team, it is important that we stop sharing our images with other, outside groups in which we participate. If your best DPC friend is now on another team, you should stop bouncing images off each other until this competition is over. It's important that there be no possibility of tactical voting, basically.

3. The real measure of our neutrality, as voters, will come when we compare the average scores, challenge-wide, against earlier, non-team competition benchmarks. We've GOT to keep voting the way we always have in the past. If it can be shown the average score-per-challenge has DROPPED during this com, petition, then it begins to feel like people care more about scores than they do about photography, and that's NOT a good thing, obviously. The images, on average, will get better: let's see the scores get better too :-)

Great guidelines. I will adhere to it

This has been my practice in the past and hopefully my teammates will agree. This is the best answer IMHO.
