I took this less than 24 hours prior to the start of the competition period, otherwise this likely would have been my submission.

If I were a member, I would've entered this Lily :-)

This is my botany outtake...I liked the shot, but I didn't think it would score as well as the one I submitted.

Thanks! I needed that positive reinforcement after taking at look at my botany score.

My outtake..

But I thought I should do something other than floral for a Botany challenge.

Brad... I don't know which one you've submitted, but this one sure would have done well, too! I love it. In fact, I made it a favorite! ;o)

Hi Shannon,
From the likes of the votes & comments so far,
it shouldn't be a problem.

Finished up a couple more:

And one in Pink

Was going to enter this one, but I couldn't get to an internet connection in time to upload it last night (I'm out of town on business).

BradP- you'd better place in the top 20 with subject matter like that! The botany challenge looks like one of the most visually appealing groups I've seen in a while. It should be fun to vote on.

I didn't enter either challenge for lack of time, but I certainly didn't lack ideas or subject matter. I live in a farming town, near one of the largest orchid farms in the country. I have no photos to post for this one, but one of my favorite "concept outtakes" was to glue red-stained cherrystone clams onto a tomato plant and arrange it with various gardening implements and a bottle of Clamato juice. Probably would have been good for a few laughs. ;-)

This was going to be my other entry choice named "the road time forgot"

with my current entry struggling to hold a 5 right now I wonder if this would of been a better choice but i felt it didn't fit the challenge as well... opinions???

Thought what I entered was better than these, but as usual it's not doing well.

i think i have made the wrong choice... but was too rush to unsubmit and resubmit... so i decide not to..... bad bad bad ... here is the outtake... that should have been the good one ...

Thankyou for sharing those lovely photos of the botanical gardens Brad. Looks a very beautiful place :)

Isn't it always the way, I'm thinking the same thing. I actually had mine in and unsubmitted and put a different one in... Woo as me..

Love the idea in that one not the colour of the paint as it dosen't have enough contrast for me. Bob

Here are a few of the 512MB of images I shot today, had a chance to process and were in my alternates:

These weren't alternates, were just basically cropped or resized real quick, minor adjustments and uploaded to share:

My Outtakes
Which should I have chosen? The one I finally decided on was clearly not the best choice. :)

I'll post my outtakes tomorrow, right after I take them! :-P
