Just head out to the plain to get your shot.

as in the the rain in spain falls mainly on the plane hehe

plain ;-) Although you could jump on a plane and go somewhere else to find rain, but that would be insane.

See, it's not that hard.

Would it be wrong to combine ALL of your ideas?

You'd be awarded with an extremely rare, but highly coveted, 10 vote from myself.

I blew my opportunity. Got poured on for about 10 minutes on a group ride Saturday. The G11 was in my jersey pocket and I completely forgot about this challenge.

And yes, I know I could go the hose route, but I'm not terribly motivated to create staged shots anymore.

Anyone complaining about it not raining needs to really start thinking out of the box.

Since I don't plan on entering, here are some last minute ideas.

1 - Lego and your shower.
2 - Your hose meets your face.
3 - Raining money on hoes. (The idea I wanted to use but my willing participant is busy.)
4 - Golden showers.

See, it's not that hard.

I didn't pick up my soft boxes in time. That and the model that was willing to go along with my idea isn't available tonight.

Assuming this is fake rain, does anybody know how to create rain like this?

rain

eta: There's also Ulead particle pro...

we had some rain, but may need to augment it... are we sure this method of creating a rain "texture" or effect is OK in Expert??

-mefnj

Yes. You're using tools in photoshop to create it. If you were for instance, borrowing a picture and using it as an overlay it might get touchy. But this way is within the rules.

Showers here today. I am off in search of something interesting to photograph.
PS How waterproof is 5D MKII with 24-105 lens? It is windy as well so not much will work but it is not pouring. I could have a chance at spotting inside out umbrellas ;)
PS2 If I want reflections I guess I forget the polarizer filter?

Didn't realize this was Expert... WHY???

All I can figure is if we don't get good weather we can make rain with the garden hose and overlay it?

I have an awesome idea, just have to see if I can pull it off.
Guaranteed to snag brown, I'll bet money on it.

gotta love the idea of buying equipment to snag a brown!

It's an excuse to buy those things anyways. Something I should have had a while back.

T-Storms this afternoon through tomorrow morning. Who would have thought the mountain desert would be a hot spot for rainfall?

People (non-DPC) have already told me the inclusion of precip makes it "magical". Of course, that's a far cry from what the voters will think. But, on something like this, the score is less important than successfully meeting the challenge and presenting an image in my style.

Besides, it'll give you something to complain about in the scores thread! :-) We all need to have that!

Well, let's say my expectations for my image's score in an Expert Edit challenge are extremely low. It is the prerogative of the member voters to expect images to look like they've taken advantage of the allowed techniques. They'll express their preferences via their votes. It's okay. I expect a 4.5 score on my entry. I won't complain.... I'll just enjoy viewing the submissions of everyone and reward the best images with the highest scores.
