Last one from me:

I managed four images, counting that one. :(

+ 1 I ran out of steam near the end, but I very much appreciate spiritualspatula proposing and organizing the challenge. I enjoyed getting to know my lens a bit better and seeing everyone's shots. Thanks again to all of the folks that posted and commented.

Hope everybody enjoyed it. I wish I could have posted more, but I was in the process of replacing my motherboard so was a bit limited. Hopefully everybody got a bit more intimately acquainted with their lens of choice and had some fun with the limits- I know I did. It's fun to see how versatile a macro lens really can be. Look for another one of these SC's in the challenge, folks!

I forgot it ended on the 5th and not the end of May.
I stopped carrying my 14-24mm in my camera bag so I didn't take photos for this side challenge starting in June. Maybe I'll go bang out 4 tonight and 1 tomorrow for completion sake.

Jun 04 - The ugly ducklings @ 500mm

The last day of this nice side challenge :( Thanks spiritualspatula for starting this and everyone else for sharing and commenting. I enjoyed playing with one lens for a month and the no cropping, but 1 month is enough.

Making photos with just 1 focal length is a very nice method for practicing, but not always very practical, especially with the nocrop/norotation limit. I've no problem with doing this for a month (so I can really test my new lens), but for normal life it's not good. You should use the lens you need or want for a certain situation.

I enjoy the approach as practice, but not as a general shooting approach. I think I made a good decision with the lens I chose, though it is somewhat specific due to how long of a tele it is. A lens closer to standard would've been much more versatile, but this forces me to think in a different way instead of following the same thought patters I normally would.

It's always fun learning new things your old equipment could do.
