Hey I got one now (below):
I used to do a bit of scambaiting which is great fun, but after a while it all gets too predictable. Then I think I found a way of getting my email address blacklisted from the scammer's 'target listings' was to earn a reputation. I'd first posed as a victim for first reply, and thereafter send 'blank' replies to each subsequent automated message. That gets scammers a little bit worried, because it gets their attention. Then I found that on first reply, write back saying I'm a government advance fee fraud investigator building a case, include their IP address and service provider (from the internet header) and I include very short text: "you have been recorded by cctv entering the building, expect a knock on your door soon".

I used to get those eMails years years ago. If you answer them back, they ask money from you for some sorry reason. After "one" eMail and research, I was sending eMails back asking money from them first and telling more sorry stories about how much do I need that money and if he/she sends me more money I would be able sell them Brooklyn Bridge... that actually worked that time, there were no more followups.
I am not sure if it works now! |
