If this is a challenge I'd like an extra rule for being able to use images over the last six months or so---my family is spread all over the world so I don't have any recent images.

I can imagine a cluster of family photographs on a mantle, a swan with her cygnets, basically anything that might bring the concept of family, but need not have any people in it.

I interpret it as "doesn't have to have a person or persons"

Please explain :
Your photo need not contain a person.
Should this be interpreted as "not only one person" meaning either 2 or more persons or no persons at all ?
