Yes, a vicious declension. So many babes and toddlers to be reschooled.

I've got the last day of voting, rapidly going down blues. :-(

I was a 5.9987 this morning. Now, barely hanging onto a 5.9. Most likely it will go even lower before rollover.

I have 5 comments, none negative. Wish my score reflected their positivity!

You're using the "a face only a mother could love" defense. Yep!

The 4 images you posted above terrify me! I see that sort of stuff akin to child abuse.. but that's another conversation :-)

I completely agree! I was over exaggerating a point. Some of the kids I posted look positively plastic!!!!

5.1 for mine now. thought i had a nicely executed well composed and technically nice picture with a good expression but obviously its a blurred sh1t photo of a blank wall..... some people have disliked an aspect of mine but i guess without explaing it they havent got it.

haha some right kiddy haters out there lol ;), i know its not indication but facebook feedback was good infact probably a photo normal people like wont do any good on here unless its PP'd to an inch of its life. thats the point im going to take from this challenge actually,

bring on the next challenge..... but this one to bed

A few of my friends have recently given birth, and there seems to be a big thing now about going to a local photo studio to do some "Anne Geddes" style shots. Next thing the photos are all over Facebook with everyone coo-ing over them... but in fact almost all of those so called professional shots suck, yet the parents just dont seem to see it and hand over their money willy-nilly.

Maybe it's me... perhaps I just have an aversion to babies! :-)

I did review my votes, and maybe I was voting at a particularly grumpy time. I've uprated quite a few shots, although my overall average vote didn't seem to move much - up to 4.7

I didn't enter the challenge, nor do I have my own kids, so no personal bias.

I actually found the overall standard of this challenge quite poor compared to any challenge in recent memory. My overall vote in the challenge was 4.5 - I don't ever remember voting a whole challenge so low. Contrast that with my average of 6.2 for Step By Step, and 5.7 for Natural Body of Water.

I see two stand out images, half a dozen other contenders, but mostly the rest really consist of photos only a mother could love. So many of them have the feel of "here's a snapshot of my kid" rather than "here's a carefully thought out and well executed photograph of a baby". It's as though the parents taking the photographs see the beauty of their children (only natural of course) and switch off thinking their work is done, but forget that they need to sell the image to the rest of us.

I know it is "basic editing" which limits options somewhat, but nonetheless, some effort is require, surely?

I set my voting benchmark at 5.5 which makes me always fall onto a choice of "above average" or "below average" for a given image - this stops me sitting on the fence settling for "average" if you follow me. You'll see after nearly 30,000 votes my voting average is almost (not quite) 5.5 which pretty much supports my position.

For whatever reason, most of the shots in the challenge, in my opinion of course, fell a good way short of average.

Not trying to rain on anyone's parade here... just hoping to someway explain why this challenge might be getting a lot of low votes.

PS - There were quite a few (again in my opinion) DNMC's which would have lowered my average mark awarded.

Say it isn't so...they are voting as if THESE were their children and forgetting that we are voting on the photograph not the child....*GASP*

Notice the nails on the last one. Nothing like this in the challenge...rofl.

6.8 might be ribbon territory in this challenge.

Wow, dropped to a 4.02. Lowest score ever for me...and I didn't even know my subject, but the photo isn't THAT bad, lol. Jeez... (I have 1 comment.)
