Is there any way to make sure you vote on all my entries?

Seriously, it seems to me that the voting has migrated 0.5 - 1.0 points harsher over the past year or two. Shots that, based on past experience, I think should / would score mid- to high-5's are pulling high-4's. However, I do feel like I'm improving (which is, for me at least, the goal).

Thank you.

If you are being honest with your votes...then you can use a 5 point scale. 5 is highest and 1 is lowest. As long as you're doing that on every entry then you are not hurting anyone. However, when people see that they get a 1, they will of course be shocked ! IMO, if you are going to use a 5 point scale, why not just use the 10 ? Just move your scale accordingly and everyone is happy !

I have my way of looking at things and no one can change it. But, I figured out a way to improve my voting score. Could someone tell me please, if these contests are about GETTING high scores on pictures or about GIVING high scores?

Anyway, here is my latest GIVING score:
Stats: You have rated 14 of 55 images (25%) in this challenge.
You have given an average score of 6.4286

I cannot go through the other ones. Honestly, I tried. :)

If these contests were some kind of charity, I would give them all 10. There is a difference between malicious scoring and strict scoring. I admire a large number of photographers here and even try to emulate some of their work. However, I give scores strictly on the merit of the photographs. No apology for that.

Both. Neither. It's what you want from it. For some people it isn't even about the scores at all.

"Four scores and seven years ago ..." my average vote received was just about the same as it is now. ;-)

We live in a rural area, so sometimes there is not enough traffic to vote on every image.

Good news though. Yesterday we went on the 100 mile yard sale. I kept notes, so I have enough votes for several challenges now.

That's great!!! I love it :-)

Overall I try to have a "normal curve" !

this actually makes a LOT of sense to me. i'm one of the guilty ones who generally uses 5-7 with occasional 8-9s with a rare 10. I like the idea of using the whole voting scale, that's what it's there for isn't it? (although i still think a "1" vote would be very rare, even more so than my rare "10")

It's fun to make fun of trolls, even though no-one probably votes that way. Got to blame someone for the low score, right? I think I will use posthumous' scale also.

posthumous, I think I will print that voting scale and tape it next to my computer screen for referencing when voting. 8)

dianapf1, Your troll voting scale literally made me L.O.L.
