Technical perfection, very sharp, no blurring, beautiful and peaceful subject in one of the following categories:
1. landscapes, preferably with sunset/sunrise/golden colors, blurred water is a bonus here
2. cute babies, animals with technical perfection - birds, kittens, horses do well
3. subjects difficult to photograph well - lightning, liquid droplets, auroras, night shots
4. flowers with perfect DOF
There are a few more but the bottom line is that technical perfection rates higher than artistic merit. This is most likely because a high percentage of DPCers comes from technical background (IT is particularly common). |
Wow...hit two of the 3 winners directly on the nose! I was actually surprised to see a portrait with skin make the top 3 because...well aside from a nude or portrait challenge, they never make the front page.
All three shots were very good....just pointing out how you nailed it what would win.

First 5 places got some of best DPCers. I am extremely happy to see wonderful photos up front.

9 comments is more than I have for this challenge. Your images are usually on the edge and not appreciated by the masses. I think I have been able to recognize your work recently and reward it for it's creativity. |

It was  bohemka who made 319 (!!) comments. And not single words like "beautiful" but full sentences with main points emphasized. Unbelievable. I am sure nobody else did that. Scott deserves recognition and a special lifetime achievement platinum ribbon for that! |
