Cutcaster.com lets you price your own image. Users can use the advanced feature to search for images only in your account. The payout is also fair at 40%.

Thanks for those suggestions! I\'ll look into those options you both have suggested. Had given SmugMug a look earlier, though at the time was only interested in posting images from a wedding online for people to order prints. Ended up going with ImageQuix instead because they had phone support, though I like the look of SmugMug much more than Imagequix.

One reason for having my image catalog online would be for my current stock clients to be able to be able to go online and find images (using a keyword search) without me having to do it for them. Of course, if other people looking for images online are directed to my catalog more the better, but I'm not too concerned about being up at the top of online searches for images of popular areas, like the "Grand Canyon" for example. On the other hand, if someone is looking online for a more specific image, let's say "dory in Lava Falls, Grand Canyon," I'd hope my website would come up. Hope that makes sense.

Would still appreciate hearing more thoughts and suggestions.

And if you want to check out some of my work, my website it ottertrack.com

I agree that you should also sign up with agencies. They do the advertisement and they have the buyer. But you can do in addition your own website or use a webservice like SmugMug. ClusterShot is another option https://www.clustershot.com/ Many of the agencies also have something that you can embed into your own website.

Maybe not what you want to hear ... but if you host your own catalog ... how will buyers find you when shutterstock, fotolio, etc. etc. etc will outrank you in SEO? My suspicion is that you'd get better financial results uploading your catalog to a few non-exclusive stock sites ... or maybe try first at an exclusive site that pays you more ... and upload the rest to non-exclusive sites.

That's if you want financial reward vs ego gratification.

If you want to go it alone, maybe SmugMug would work. Pretty easy to batch upload, create galleries by subject, genre, etc. SmugMug has online sales for electronic images and prints built in and very easy price management. I do use SmugMug to deliver proofs and final images to my real estate clients. It does pretty much all you ask for above.

Here's a discount code if you want to try SmugMug pro at a discount: wGISUwQxJWTFE

I'm not a stock shooter so maybe those who make money that way could weigh in.

Can we see some of your work here?

Best of luck.

Hi. I'd really appreciate some suggestions for software that will enable me to either post my stock photo catalog onto my website or onto a third party's website.

I'm primary looking for some kind of system where editors could go to my website and use a keyword search to find, view and select images for publication. The system doesn't need to include access to source files - clients could contact me for those.

More specifically, I'm hoping to find a program or a service that offers:
1. The ability to easily export apx. 9,000 image files and keywords from an Expression Media catalog.
2. That ability for images to be seen by search engines, via the keywords. All of the images in my catalog are keyworded, but most don't have titles yet (they just have caption numbers), so it's important that the keywords be seen by search engines.
3. An advanced keyword search, similar to Expression Media's, with multiple keyword searches and hopefully "or" and "and" options.
4. The ability to view larger preview images (in addition to the requisite thumbnails).
5. A way for clients to select images, into a shopping cart or some other system, that would avoid them having to manually make a list of the caption numbers of the images that they're interested in. (Not essential.)
6. A system for ordering prints via a third party lab (similar what ImageQuix or Smugmug offer) would be nice, but not essential.

Of course, it'd also be nice if this is a user friendly program (or service) both for me and for my clients, that it looks great and doesn't cost a lot.

Anyone know of anything out there that would do the job?
THANKS!
