I think we all need a few sub-five's to keep us real! :)
I peaked on Friday, I think, and slowly went from 5.9 to 5.8. Dammit. Would have put but sub 40th.
Broke four aims in this competition though so I'm not complaining:
Be in top 100
Be in top 50
Score over 5
Score over 5.5

Well, it almost dipped below 4.80, but someone changed their score and the 150th vote moved me up slightly safer. LOL

If I can just stay above 6 I would be happy. I really was hoping to post a better rendition of this pic but luck would have it otherwise and therefore glad it's doing ok for me. Ive finished voting and it was sure difficult to work through the pics and get the longer exposure on all of them but it's there...just has less impact in the pics than others.

>> With 110 votes, it's hard to argue that the low score is just due to crazy people...
Haha. That's a very funny sentence.
It's like someone saying "I'm not paranoid, but that doesn't mean they're not after me!" ;)

Of course you may be right. We'll see after t'were done.

With 110 votes, it's hard to argue that the low score is just due to crazy people...I guess I didn't do as well as I thought putting this one together. Oh well, that just means I have more work to do with these types of shots.

+1 over my last score. It'll be hard to keep this improvement up!

Two comments. One of them just states the score, the other is a two word-er. Still appreciated. Please keep them coming:-)

4.94's higher than my current highest score. I must be really terrible.

And as I was complaining, I got hooked up a few more times. Still no comments telling me why this is apparently so terrible (no big shock there though).

Interesting. I'll check out your entry next week.

I think it meets the challenge, or I wouldn't have entered it. It seems pretty self-explainatory to me (emphasis mine):
Long exposures can often create very dramatic effects in photography. Use a longer than normal exposure to create the impact of your image.
"Longer than normal," what is normal? My feeling is that "normal" is whatever shutter speed you would typically use to properly expose and freeze an image. Obviously, this can vary depending on what combination of aperture and ISO one selects, but the "dramatic effect" portion of the challenge description is why I feel that my entry is valid. If I used a "normal" shutter speed, my subject would have been frozen and would not have a feeling of motion; thus, I would not have created in "impact."

Taking it one step further, a "normal exposure" for a subject in a dark location without strobes or other lighting is going to be 1 second and beyond, but that is a NORMAL exposure for that subject under those conditions, and may NOT "create the impact of [the] image."

Could I have taken a picture of moving clouds, running water, or vehicle lights and been SURE to "meet" the challenge? Sure. But I've already proven that I can do that, so it's not a CHALLENGE. Oh well, the beatings will continue until morale improves. Carry on...
