To further clarify. Photoshop, more specifically Adobe Camera RAW has an option to either save the image settings in sidecar ".xmp" files, or the Camera RAW database. You can select where you want the RAW database to be.

If you move the raw file without moving the sidecar, you lose the settings as the xmp and raw file need to be in the same place. If you use the database, then it doesn't matter where on your computer you store the raw file.

But, if you want COMPLETE flexibility, then you can convert the file to DNG and the settings will be stored within the DNG file.

But, be warned, if you submit images to DPC challenges, DO NOT delete the raw file. The DNG file is NOT considered to be the original file and you will receive a DQ if requested to provide the original. If your camera can record DNG files, then, any only then would it be considered as the original.

So I can save the RAW.... in my Originals file... then convert it to DNG and I dont have to worry about it???

You dont need to delete them. There should be a command in your raw editing software to return original camera raw.
If it s irresistable to delete them, go for it :)

so if those corrections arent important I can delete them??
