10 mins to go (as of time of writing) until the polls close and it all kicks off. I have been down to my local polling station and placed my X in the box. Polling station was busiest I have ever seen for any election (European, Local or General) - I think the election is probably too close to call at the moment. BBC website has an awesome setup on their election page with live video, updates etc. Got my beers, got my pepsis and half an album to design whilst its all going on.

Anyone else in the UK having an election night marathon?

Yep. Already finished my Indian takeaway and first bottle of wine. Tomorrow I will be nursing a hangover and considerable disappointment.

Polls are just closing. Here we go.

Simms, where the heck have you been over the last couple of weeks?

We are here Mark, watching C4 Alternative Election at the moment, quite funny ;-).

We are all gonna be either disappointed or slightly surprised I think, as you say too close to call and first time I have voted for this party in 23 years, so I am guessing there maybe a lot of 40+ voting different to usual !!!!

Exit poll suggest Tories to be short by 19 seats for majority.. Which means that Gordon Brown could be the person to get the least amount of votes but still be PM.. gotta love our electoral system..

Keith, I have just switched over to BBC from the Channel 4 programme - enjoyed the Come Dine With Me bits!

Just seen the first exit polls which so Libdems as losing 3 seats - not a LibDem supporter, but I just don't believe that!

Uh huh - thats nonsense. But who will they gain at the expense of? Blue or Red.. if Red then that could be all the Tories need.

I knew I should have booked tomorrow of work, luckily only 11 am start so I can stay up and see some results come in.

I guess it's not the done thing to to say who we want to win but:

ANYBODY except Brown

I am Basildon & Billericay.

York central - should be a Labour hold.

edit - the Tories would need a 12.5% swing.

Ours is blue atm. Should hold easily. However the one to watch if Basildon South as that has always gone the way of the party who `wins`.

Nope, Bas & Bil is blue - Basildon south is red. Bas south is the rougher part of town.. :)
