There are Too many great posters instead rejected posters

I guess rejection (like everything else in life) is in the eye of the beholder. I don't know what you think of mine, so if you would be so kind to finish commenting, that would help. I'm currently sitting pretty at a 6.71.

Don't you feel your leg being pulled?

Actually mine was a 2 minute job, but my score is showing it! 4.90

I'm with you.....I didn't know this challenge called for humorous...bad posters. I thought the idea was to make a photo that would be rejected for any of a number of reasons....anything that is a contrast to the original movie or poster. Those people who want to give out low votes for ridiculous reasons can go take a flying leap....and take their pathetic vote with them.

It's going to be a couple of days until I vote, (I want to finish up on the freestudy first) but from my quick once over, I am expecting to find a lot to like. Lots of creative thinking on these.

you can have awesome rejected poster how to vote in this contest pretend you are the producer or the president of the movie and you ask for poster for your movie and see how many rejected awesome poster came in.

if not why not made all the contests free study entry!!

Whiterook...my hero!

Hmmmmm...I'm thinking about this. Okay...I'll agree to disagree with you...;-)

In many ways, this challenge IS a free study of people's creativity and designer thinking in the free realm of movies and entertainment.

I'm 100% CERTAIN the producer of my movie would REJECT it, but obviously, mine just isn't an appropriately creative or absurdly humorous entry after all as determined by the score.

Oh well...:-/

I'm having a hard time following this discussion exactly, but I thought the challenge description was pretty clearly stated:

1) Create a poster for a real movie, whereas the poster has some flaw or misinterpretation that would get it rejected, or
2) Create a poster for a fictitious movie, whereas the movie was rejected for some reason

Two oddities:
- Some voters seem to be arguing awarding higher scores for #1 than #2
- Some entrants seem to be erring on the side of entering an ugly/quirky creation in defense that it would be rejected because it's ugly/quirky, thereby meeting the challenge and deserving a high score.

In the end, though, I guess the voter is always right and may award points for whatever they please.

Regardless, this challenge is chock full of hilarious and creative entries.

Ok, so if we are talking about real world, a real rejected movie poster, would not be that far away from the original, at least the concept, otherwise if you come up with something "funny" you will not get the next job. And just for the record, I think some of the funny ones in the challenge, are awesome entries, but I think of them as a parody, althoug that's not affecting the way I'm voting.

Description: This week, your entry should be a rejected poster from a real movie, or a poster from movie that was rejected. It didn't say nothing about you item 1 or 2. I believe you put that in your mind. you run the movie company you can accept or rejected a poster if a poster intice the public to the threater you will not rejected that poster!

I think we're basically in agreement. =)

My 1 and 2 simply iterate a bit further, your "movie tycoon" mindset seems right to me, as far as meeting the challenge. But the challenge doesn't say why movie or poster would have been rejected, so one can assume that bad jokes, political incorrectness, cheap knockoffs, typos, and even poor quality photos equally meet the challenge. After meeting the challenge, voters have other weights to consider, probably highly weighting aesthetic.

So it's not so much a free study as it is a generic "movie poster" challenge where "rejected" does nothing more than suggest humor and expert editing is the spice. I dig it.

Well, my image isn't that strong... and I really don't care how the voters are voting... To tell you the truth, the only thing that mattered to me with this challenge was how much I learned, and to tell you the truth, I learned a ton... Editing is not my strong point, and this challenge really forced me to get out of my comfort zone and learn some new techniques (i.e. combining multiple images, Liquify, dodge, burn, multiple layering... and so on) I know dodge/burn are legal in advanced, but I have never bothered to learn it. To me, that is why expert editing challenges are so important... In order to keep up with the level of a DPC expert challenge, one has to venture outside of their comfort zone and try things they either normally don't do, or normally can't do... While I'm not entirely happy with my entry, I now have allot to build on in the future... I'll never understand why, with so much creativity on this site, expert editing challenges are SO rare... I'm hoping this challenge leads to more expert challenges in the future...

My belief is this is in order to keep it as a photography competition, rather than it becoming all about photoshopping.
