This is just so hilarious. I have seriously been screaming when they pop up on my screen. Way to go, Imagineers!!! I haven't given out 7 10's EVER!!! I have to say, I gave higher scores to those that looked like a true poster, including credits, ratings, etc.

My score sucks but I'm still chuckling at some of them. Anyone who can make my 15 year old smile at 8 a.m. gets a 10 from me. :)

Don't worry some voters never read the entire challenge description, "or a poster from movie that was rejected". so I am sure there are voter police out there hitting images harder because they did not fully understand the challenge.

Or maybe because they do understand the challenge and the photographer did not. To me, many would make very good movie posters and not rejected posters. I'm struggling with how to vote on these myself because some are well done, but they look like real movies or could be real posters for a movie that exists.

I think everyone knew voting would be hard on this one but reading the entire description allows either a rejected poster or a poster from a rejected movie. To me it's kind of a free study movie poster challenge but voters seem to always look for a reason to vote down rather than vote up so I am not surprised there is a hard line for some voters on their interpretation.

They could look perfectly fine and have a misspelled word, or title or director...anything could be taken for rejection. On the other hand in the movie business various posters are presented for a single movie and NOT ALL of them make it to the end, and that does not mean there was ANYTHING wrong with them... you can see samples on this site:

There has to be a line somewhere, and for me in this challenge the "rejected" has to show, even if subtle.

Well I guess it is possible for some people to know everything about every movie out there and be able to figure out which posters or Proposed movie ideas could possibly have been rejected. I guess I am just lucky because I am not very smart about movies so I can just vote on what I like. Ignorance in this case is bliss, I can just enjoy the images even the fake ones, oh wait they are all fake, hmmmmm......:)

Me too. I haven't been to a theater since Titanic first came out. Can't remember the one before that.....Lol. I wait until they come out on DVD. I'm loving this challenge. Some awesome work.

How I read the entire challenge description is if you believe the image is rejected you will vote high, very simple!

So if I got a comment that reads "Great Poster", for example, that wouldn't be a good thing so far as scoring is concerned?
05/03/2010 08:16:34 PM · #72
I didn't read into the challenge description to produce a crappy poster, just one that was rejected. It could be as subtle as slightly different colors, fonts, location of the fonts. Hell, they are all rejections, I didn't see one actor that I recognize.......Lol. I'm surely not going to google the original to make sure....Lol......Hey, that's just me.

I guess rejection (like everything else in life) is in the eye of the beholder. I don't know what you think of mine, so if you would be so kind to finish commenting, that would help. I'm currently sitting pretty at a 6.71.

I think the whole point of this challenge was to have fun. Many took this as a chance to poke fun at some movies, and get creative with some word play on the movie titles.

This challenge had so many creative, and unique entries... I had a tonne of fun voting for them.
