Hi..

I just wanted to get some recommendation for a photo slide show.

I am looking for a software with photo transaction and zoom effect.

It doesn't has to be sophisticated, but i need to burn it on dvd in the end, and run it in some kind of exhibition event..

thx for all the helpers

I'm a big fan of Pro Show Gold myself.

ProShow Gold is very good. I started out using that but have since moved on to Sony Vegas Movie Studio. Probably a bit more complex than what you're looking for. Can't go wrong with PS-Gold, though.

Final Cut Express (MAC)

Adobe Premiere Elements (Windows)

All those mentioned in this thread have trial versions.

Another is Pinnacle Studio

Each has a slightly different interface. Try them all to find the interface that works best for you.

There are some free versions as well

Windows Movie Maker
Photo Story
iMovie (MAC)

I had several versions of Pinnacle Studio. For ME, it was always buggy and driving me crazy.

So, you ask, why did I keep buying it? Because I kept hoping the next version would finally fix my problems, and if it had, then Pinnacle Studio would be THE very best..... ever.

The features, the feel, the ease of use, the end results...... I adore everything about it other than the fact that it kept locking up on me.

IrfanView (Windows) can make slideshows, and is free. I haven't played with it for that use though, neither with any other slideshow software ... :-(

How about for a larger showing? Like projecting it 7 or 8 feet tall. Proshow gold doesn't seem to retain enough details.

How big you can project it depends on the quality of the images included and the native resolution of the projector. What you don't want is the slideshow software enlarging your images to fit the specs of the show.

I always use images at their max resolution just in case I want to use some zoom effects.

1. ProShow Gold

2. iPhoto

3. Slideshow Pro

I've tried a lot and those are the 3 best I've used by FAAARRRRR. iPhoto is limited but incredibly easy to use, fast and you can add music tracks. Plus it's free if you own a Mac.

Given the user name, I'd have thought you'd include Aperture 3.
