05 Nissan Altima 3.5 S
I have seen lots of Altima 2.5 S and 3.5 SE, but very few 3.5 S models. Yeah, I guess I'm special. Just not shot bus special, well....
Great power and lots of space! My first car, that gave a smile.

Oh yes, Lexus IS 350:
Now, before you write me off as a snob... I feel the IS was the best combination of high-tech gadgets, cushy leather seats, and sporty engine available at the time. And it looks hot. I actually avoided Lexus as a manufacturer in my first few rounds of car shopping... turned off by the 'exclusivity' angle of their marketing... but I basically got backed into buying one due to the lack of any serious competition. Other sports cars are tilted towards performance over comfort, but Lexus keeps it cushy inside... the materials are nice. They hit the sweet spot. Now that I drive one, I love the car, and the brand too.
And it's totally bangin', even without an aftermarket stereo! But drop two 13" low-profile subs ported through the ski door in the back seat, and holy crap is that a nice ride. Quiet AND loud, all at the same time, it's a concert hall on wheels! Too bad that's just an addition to my husband's IS, not mine. :)

What he said, regarding rear view obstructed by tire. Then there's the very high belt line, so relatively narrow greenhouse glass. But the killer is the really wide C-pillar, that's a huge blind spot when looking over your shoulder and to the right... Bear in mind that I'm deaf, and I'm REALLY Uncomfortable when my visibility is restricted.

Escape:  FJ Junior: 
Of course the FJ Junior is a true 4WD based on a truck platform, and the Escape is an AWD and not a "real" truck, so the FJ is MUCH more capable in serious off-road conditions, but I don't do that kind of driving anymore. When I did, I ran Jeeps. The Escape serves very well for winter snow-and-ice on the Eastern Seaboard, which is where I am at currently.

ONE Lexus you can get away with, sure. That particular model is OUTstanding. But when you have his-and-his Lexuses (or is it Lexi?) we have to wonder :-)
I still remember fondly the best car I ever owned, hands-down: a 1997 328IS BMW Coupe. Gawd I loved that car...

Yes the FJ Junior is beast. I have pulled more than one Escape out of snow with my old '98 Pathfinder. AWD on the Escape is pretty much a joke. |

Think about it this way. He had a mid-90's Durango, but that's insane for everyday driving, they're total hogs, so he wanted a car. We have similar tastes. And as I said, there was only one sensible optionon the market for someone with those tastes at the time. :) He did get the 250 as a nod to cost/efficiency, but then threw a ton of huge magnets and capacitors in there, and slathered dynamat all over it to kill any bass rattle. We get about the same mileage now, lol! (I also drive like a sane person, which helps.)
As you can see, this result was the inevitable outcome of forces beyond our control!
We just had the chance to rent a Ford Flex with some friends of ours on vacation, and to our shock and slight dismay, we all kind of fell in love with it. It was super comfy, even for six! Riding b* in the middle seat wasn't so fun, so seven was pushing it, but it's a great people mover regardless. It had a very open, airy feel... nice and square. It's like a huge, lumber-ready xB that doesn't suck or rattle, and that you can peel out in. Ford! |

My all time fave ride was a brown 1972 Datsun 240Z with a 260Z motor, triple weber carb setup, tuned suspension, cam and a boatload of other goodies. It looked cool, it hauled ass and there's something to be said for pulling over to wait for the CHP who is waaaaay back there at 3am only to have him tell you, "Son, I was doin 100mph at the bottom of the onramp and you were still pullin' away hard, do you know how fast you were going?"

Nothing fancy, but I love this car.
For a hatchback, slightly taller. Got a 1.2L petrol engine. Mileage 28 mpg considering weird city traffic in India. |

I have 3: Oldsmobile Alero > Dodge Caravan > and a Kia Sportage.
They are all very dirty right now ( we arent allowed to wash cars due to the water shortage because of the flood its been a month of truding thru mud and nastiness with no bath ) so I didnt take a picture.
