1999 Mazda Protege in Twilight Blue. Bought it as a 5-yr old car at 108000k...owner was an airline pilot so he only drove it to the airport and back every 4-5 days :-)

Only a 1.6l engine so not the peppiest vehicle out there but it's at 272000km so not complaining. Gets me where I need to go and now that a good friend replaced a rear strut for me while I was away, running real nice once again.

Its predecessor was a Mazda 323 (in Sunrise Red) that made it to almost 3700000k before biting the dust. That one had a much rougher start in life, though, got it at 208000k as an 8-yr-old car. Sure miss the turning radius on that car...*sigh*...

Plan to get a Mazda 3 next. A lot smaller than the Protege but man is it zippy! And I do like to pass every so often :-)

I drive a 2002 Mazda Protege 5... or, at least I did. Now, I just drive a bunch of rust around.

I am hoping to get the Ford Fiesta within a year or two.

Depends on what time of year... From December through mid-March and when I otherwise need four wheels, I drive a 2003 VW Jetta TDI (diesel) wagon. It gets an average of 47mpg (5.0 liters per 100 km for those outside the states). It has 143,000 miles (230,000 km)on it and runs like new. I'm the original owner.

Whenever I can, though, usually March through November, my ride of choice is this:

It's a 1995 Honda ST1100 sport touring bike. I've owned it since 1999. Bought it with 17,000 miles on it, now has 152,000 (245,000 km) and has seen 34 of the lower 48 states plus three Canadian provinces (NB, QC, ON). Runs like new, but looking a little beat up these days. 46 mpg average.

It has tinted windows. They are rolled down. I like to see their faces when I launch the missiles.

ROLLED down? What? Couldn't afford power windows?

This was my toy until I sold it last year, 215bhp, 600kg Westfield, lots of fun ...

I now have a Honda S2000 which is fantastic

A minivan! With a gigantic bunny sticker on the outside of one window. It is affectionately known as the Bunnymobile, and no self-respecting car thief would ever want to be seen in it.

I am cool.

A 2007 Ford Focus sedan. It's innocuous, invisible, rock-solid reliable, and gets 27+ miles to the gallon no matter how hard I flog it.

After driving a never-ending stream of weird, ostentatious, and rare collector cars for forty years, I'm happy to have a car I don't care much about and see simply as transportation.

I love my truck.....I don't have any pics on here yet of it....I have a 2005 Chevy Z71 with a 5.4 Liter gas engine emerald green - 4 door the back windows are tinted........I need the 4wd to get to some spots that I want to take pics.....So far I have only gotten stuck once and that was on a creekbed in sand... I had to pay a guy $50 to get me out or $120 for awrecker...That really sucked.

2010 Highlander Hybrid. I love this car. Great gas milage for the size, and plenty of room for all sorts of crap.

2009 Toyota Corolla - and I'm thrilled with the mileage. On my last long distance trip, I got 43 mpg. I'm averaging about 37 mpg and that's a cool thing. I get a little less when I'm running around the county (about 34 mpg), but when I am using the Interstate or on trips, it increases dramatically. And it's so nice to fill up for $25 or so. It wasn't my first choice of vehicles, but it has been a very good compromise of price, capabilities, storage, and economy.

I'm so cool -- a 2000 Chevy Venture mini-van.

(It doesn't warrant a picture)

(as a comment to the fossilized chicken nuggets -- isn't it scary that you can "lose" one in a car, find it 5 months later and it still looks good as new? not that I've ever done that. no, sir. my floor is spotless -- underneath all that stuff.)

You totally win the prize for coolest car posted so far, IMO. Lucky dog! You live in a great place and drive classic 4x4 wheels like that!
