Having one for 24 hours now, I love it. The scrabble game is great and the weather max ap is really nice. I don't have an iPhone or iPod so it is not a duplicate device in any way for me. I mainly got it for when I travel to keep in communication and have some leisurely stuff to do when waiting in airports or stuck in Brazil (as I will be next week) with nothing I want to do with me. Traveling with a laptop (which I don't have any more) was such a pain in the butt. This will be a breeze - fits right in the pocket of the case I carry.

I was wondering if I should get one or not...I knew we could use it to show off pictures to our customers and would really help at trade shows. Talk about being interactive, let your customers come into your booth and look through your portfolio on an iPad! The wife and I were talking and talking about it. We both have iPhones we have an iPod touch that I got as a gift (the kids get to use that now) and we both have laptops. So it was very hard to think about spending $500 on this...

A couple weeks ago 123RF said they were having a promotion giving away iPads... I was already signed up with them did not cost met anything might as well. So I entered and got an email saying I won. Based on the terms on their website I should be getting a $500 Apple gift card. We went to the Apple store and played with them for a while. I love it, I want one. I will keep everyone updated on the contest... but if you would like more details check out their Facebook Page.

Proof that Neanderthals are alive and well, and haven't been extinct for 30,000 years.

the only logical use for the Ipad, The thing is a piece of crap, go buy your self one of the PC tablets and save your self some money.

I actually have a PC tablet and it is the biggest piece of crap ever. nothing but problems with it from day one.

So far the only thing I don't like about the iPad is you get the message you can't vote on DPC on a mobile device.

I sent in a ticket and have been talking with Langdon. Expect to see that addressed soon.

thanks! been searching for a video like this yesterday and couldn't find one, missing the reaction from Apple fans still waiting in line to get one though

what i don't like: The national news saying the ipad will revolutionize the world
..

Does it have multi-tasking yet? Can it drive me places?

The problem I see is that it doesn't replace anything, it's just a larger ipod touch without many new features

haha yes, i'm overly biased against it, BUT i will say i think it would be fun to hold

Version 4.0 of the iPhone/iPad OS will be announced on April 8 - Expect multitasking.

The 3G version will have GPS (I think), if that is what you meant by "drive me places"

Agreed. The comments purport that it's fake. The "Tosh" that they refer to is Daniel Tosh, who has a show (Tosh.0) that is entirely based on youtube videos (odd concept, I know). Fake or not, it's still asinine, and I'm not very interested in the idea of the iPad.

coming from someone who hasn't even touched one, let alone used one. Only because it is Apple. "APPLE sucks!" Get over it. Why has EVERYONE copied the iPhone-IF IT SUCKS!?
Yes right now it is a giant iTouch with extras, etc., but 2nd and 3rd Generations will be something. 3G phone and web use coming this summer. Lots of practical uses for it, business uses, college student, etc., etc. I don't want one cuz have have no use at this time for one.

Good to know. So far, despite what a lot of people seem to be saying about the iPad's uselessness, I have found it to be quite a handy and useful device. But again though, I have no other devices like this one (iPod of any variety, iPhone or even a smart phone for that matter).

Ironically, that won't play on an iPad because it's Flash. HTML5 is the way to go!

Seriously cool app - Star Walk

Astronomy application. Gives you the star map from the location you're at and as you rotate around it rotates with you showing you the stars in the direction you're pointing in real time.

overlays constellations, has hot spots to click for details about that star, planet, galaxy. Also zooms in with amazing detail.

While HTML5 is promising, Flash won't be going away any time soon. Support for it would be nice.

I kind of agree, but Adobe has admitted to doing a really bad job on the Mac plugin, with no intention of dealing with it.

From and ad standpoint, I don't miss flash at all.

The iPad will not have phone capability, unless you merely mean to say it will use the 3G network for data, in addition to wifi. No phone though.

Doesn't it come with an app that converts flash to something the ipad can see?
