I sure appreciate the favorite. And, the comments accurately address the controversy, which is reflected in the score.

Just gout hit by a "one" vote of a 15 year old. He never participated in a challenge yet and I was his sixth vote casted ever on this site. But he did give me a comment. The picture was way to dark and I should wait until there is enough light when making pictures....... He missed the nightshot part completely i'm afraid. Coming from 5.8 after 20 votes I'm now at 4.7....

Shouldn't voters at least have a driverslicence....??

Sounds like someone got trolled... (How do you only have 20 votes so far?)
03/18/2010 11:34:21 AM · #90
Lay off the kid, maybe he recognized an underxposed image and voiced one way to improve the exposure. Judging by your reaction, your 4.7 was unexpected, could he be reflecting the masses? BTW, licence.

High school photography classes frequently use DPC as a learning aid. I first encountered this about 2 years ago, when two classmates left nearly identical critiques on my entry 5 minutes apart. Same camera, same join date, similar pattern of their usernames. I can often tell this is going on when I start seeing a lot of low to mediocre scoring entries placed in schools, often of the same subjects that their classmates choose. Not too many of them stick around once the class is over. There is at least one HS class using DPC right now.

Maarten is not a native English speaker, plus in British English, it is Licence, not the American version of License.

I learned something today. The noun license (licence in Australian, British, Canadian, New Zealand, Indian and Irish spelling) refers to that permission as well as to the document memorializing that permission.

Going down over here as well. After a strong start, some people are really disliking it. I'm blaming it on the high schoolers.
