Some days I hate being Harry Homeowner.....I had a garbage disposal that had quit working a while back, and it just kept getting further and further blocked by buildup to a point where I couldn't, for all intents & purposes, use one side of my kitchen sink. I kept avoiding doing it 'cause I knew it was going to be a PITA.

It was a nuisance, but since I had to be home today anyway for the remodeling of my kid's bathtub, I figured I'd deal with it. It's fixed....only took me all day and now I have to put all the junk back under the sink......neatly......8>(

I took that first picture and printed it out so that when I went to Lowe's I'd have it for reference so I'd get everything I needed in one trip. I didn't.....hadda go back for three dollars worth of stuff.

I hate those things!!!!!

They always bind up, fail, and then become germ laden water bins.

I heave the perishable fruit and veggie scraps down over the hill for the wild/feral critters, and we rarely eat meat, and when we do, it generally doesn't have bones.

Country livin, yas suh!

Apparently I was a *bad girl* and created new images where none existed before. Check out the My Fine Art entry got DQ'd, I piggybacked on that thread. Thingfish started it.

Awww thanks Alan! But apparently there are, so far, a total of 6 DQs in Fine Arts. Guess the DQ police really had to meet their quota this week :-/

Speaking of quotas I am severely behind in crtitiquing, so better get onto that pronto...

The trouble with Americans is that they don't even know they've been born.

You may notice from the enclosed picture that water is obliged to run uphill occasionally. Water being the recalcitrant stickler for tradition that water is, trouble often features. I drove around the outskirts of town looking for parts and nobody had them. (I got some bits, but most of the useful looking ones were either 32 or 50 mm, while the pipes under the kitchen sink are 40mm, neat, huh?)

Maintenance at this hotel is out to lunch.

Peter that is impressive, and should be considered a piece of modern art..

I received 2 comments on my shadow entry, the first "Hmm... I don't think this one will do very well, reason being is that there really isn't anything that says "wow" to me."
The second.............................:)

We Americans do have things a little different here......the laws of gravity *still* apply here on this side of the pond. If you'll notice the short extension piece directly below the drain on both sinks......I bought two new ones, and when I first mocked up the final arrangment, for some reason the connector pipe was lower on the far sink due to a drain connector height differential. Now......I suppose I could have arranged some sophisticated system to alleviate this issue through a complicated structure involving electricity and a pump. But I thought to myself, "What if I were two cut two inches from that extension pipe on the far sink connection?"

Oddly enough, it changed the angle of the pipe so that it was actually lower towards the side where the water needed to flow, causing the water to naturally to flow in trhe direction intended, thereby negating the need for the extraneous pump apparatus!

Strange indeed, eh?

I'll settle for living somewhere I don't have to keep the kitty litter box next to the computer and the bed. :-)

If you are into construction, they make them things out of plastic. One for every 40 or so guys, cleaned once a week. When the temps go a buck plus you smell um before you see um.

A new home - good even if the plumbing is a bit dodgy!

I spent this morning putting together my first ever panoramic photo - thanks to the General for recommending Autostitch. Any critique and/or tips welcome!
