Wow, really honored. At last evidence that subliminal messages really work! ;)
Really, thank you.

Soooooo late. The whole holiday thing sorta got away from me...
So, XPrizes for Motion Blur...
FocusPoint
A lovely image, dark and heavy, yet flying so fast. Beautiful indeed.
skewsme
And another one! This is lovely. Simple and clear, unexpected negativity, a copper swish of flight.
4trtone
This is a truly lovely image: a bird made of golden smoke. |

Some FS entries I liked better than the masses, it appears:
by UrfaTheGreat (I'm one of her biggest fans - visit her portfolio after you take a look at this one, which is a bit yanko-esque, isn't it?)
by Posthumous
by hopelessoptimist What a great username! But seriously, enjoy this shot. Especially the giant shadow of the leaping kitten. How fun is that!
by Dennisheckman Kinda sad, kinda lonely. My kind of shot.
by shutterpuppy "Somehow this has the lovely sound of three women chatting away at the hairdresser's. Despite the snow, this strikes me as warm and quite cheerful!"
by SaraR A lovely peaceful pencil-sketched photo that would make a great Christmas card. :-)
by Abra The star on the helmet is just too fun.
And who knows, I may post more later. Really some wonderful gems in this challenge, including some breathtaking photography in the top 100 (like that blue ribbon winner for instance). Thanks!

And now XPrizes for From the Ground Up (Told ya I was behind...)
Wildcard
O, this is just stunning. Soft, gentle, and looming in the edge of vision. Like a loving, but strict parent, when we know we're doing something wrong. The zone plate was the perfect choice for the dandelion.
tnun
I really like this - dark and mysterious; bayou at night. The depth of tone, the grain, the motion blur, all combine to make this a superb, disturbing, image.
jomari
The glow, the pale green, the filled frame - they all combine to make a wonderfully abstract image. It feels oppressive, yet full of light and air; an interesting combination indeed.

And the XPrizes for Mr Lennon...
bspurgeon
The running, the blur, the child's foot, the dark. They all work together to create a powerful image, intellectually and emotionally.
jmritz
Just woken from a nightmare, the startled gaze is unfocused as yet, still unsure what is real and what is dream, afraid they are bleeding together.
posthumous
But we are. We all are, as this is the Ur tree, the experience of tree, the tree from whence we all come.

I was thrilled to see the posthumous gallery selection icon show up in my comments, I edited this image in hopes of getting one and to get it was a real thrill. Thanks!

I gave out four 10s, only one of which attracted a 'longer look' comment, so the:
(new logo) goes to arngrimur for:
Amazing, unfettered portrait.
I only gave out two 9s and only one attracted a 'longer look' comment - Ben's Beach:
I seem to have been a bit stingy with my scores this month so I'll share my 8s that attracted 'longer look' comments too:
I commend all of these images to you for your continuing viewing pleasure!

And the XPrizes for Portrait from Behind
jmritz
Dark and grainy, subterranean, submarine, floating just out of reach. The electric tendrils are reaching out to you through the gloom.
paulbtlw
Well, this just makes me happy. The blur, the lines, the rich, rich tones. Moving away from the light, yet the light holds on and drags back. Mmmmmm.
4trtone
Ooooooooo. Sorry. Lovely image, the richness of the tones is sumptuous. The reaching for the light, but it's not there. Shadow and man almost holding hands, but can't quite reach. Lovely. |

Don, you're always welcome!
I love coming back to this after my two year break. The nice thing is that sometomes I give the ribbon winners the same score as someone who ended up on the last page of results. So, they get a little 'front page' (ish) action. |

Don, Thanks for the Posthumous. I usually agree more with your picks than challenge voting so this is a huge honor. Especially after finishing in 149th place.

Thank you Ben! This portrait is special to me, because this is a friend, and a really good physicist. He does not just look like a thinker, he is a thinker. |
