I have to admit it took me a second or so to realize this guy was either really upset, was frustrated or just had some fun. Luckily I had no cup of coffee in my hand ... could have been a serious sccident :)
Thought I share the faun with you
"New" wedding photographer - $250

this is the best part:

Pros have:
-a business license
- multiple cameras
-thousands of dollars in lenses and flashes
-hard drives to back up the images
-insurance
-experience
-people skills
-color calibrated monitors
-professional print labs
-professional albums

I have none of this stuff so we'll keep it cheap, just for you!

I am totally speechless at this, I dont even know what to say....

At least he's honest. He's probably a registered user or memeber here to. Fit right in.

That's got to be a joke.

It almost sounds tongue in cheek...but you never know - all I can say to those to take the bait - you get what you pay for. For someone who has no professional experience will find out what a headache it is when it doesn't come out right and heartache for those foolish enough to hire someone for a lifetime event that cannot be 'repeated' or reshot.

I think it's a pro letting off steam against the "cheap offerings" on creaigslist.
This can't be real - I hope

Yes, got to be. 'I own a camera therefore I can take photos like the pros, who charge alot more.' That has to be a dig. A joke but a very funny one!

This has to be a joke... "To keep things cheap for you, I won't even back up the images". Haha.... Must be a joke.......

Couldn't help it...forwarded it to two different friends who are getting married. They immediately took it as a joke.

Has to be a joke.

Who would advertise they have no License and don't plan on paying taxes.

heheh. i would say a "real" photog frustrated at either CL or the different requests he gets from the brides.

For some reason I'm imagining a pitchman commercial by Vince Shlomi about this photographer and his service.

That would be hilarious!

Sounds like a pro who has had just one too many "but my brother/cousin/friend/coworker has a camera just like yours, and s/he would do it for free--why do you charge so much?" questions....

totally agree with you ... it HAS to be a joke ... but just for $hits and giggles, I might reply ;)

I cant believe some of you think this may be genuine - yes it is a joke by a pro but it sums it all up pretty nicely.

Then again, we all have to start somewhere, it was only a couple of years ago I was shooting weddings for free/cost - I think it would be arrogant of me to knock the newbies too much. Lets face it, not all B&Gs have lots of money to spend, so cheap budget photographers will always be in demand, as will mid-range and expensive ones.

I replied and told him he "ROCKED".

Damn funny stuff

He just replied a moment ago...

"I cant take credit. I reposted it. I felt the same way you did."

You were supposed to reply like you were interested in booking him!

Does Wal-Mart do a good job of printing photos??? ;-)

I like how he says that, as opposed to himself, the pros have people skills.
