For a long time myself and Sirashley were the only Android owners, with our G1's in a sea of Iphones. Now that there are more Android phones on the market, are there any other owners here?

BTW... Adobe Photoshop mobile for Android.

Seriously thinking about dropping my BB Storm in favor of a Droid..

Any of you have advice?

I've heard a lot of good about the Droid. Minor criticisms of the hardware in some reviews. I'm on Tmobile though, so I will be using whatever they offer. I just bought my wife the MyTouch. Much sexier than the G1, and noticeably faster, but I really like having a physical keyboard.

Okay...I may have missed something....

We got our daughter a Droid.....is that different than an Android?

(HOPING this isn't a question that will confirm my daughter's accusations that I am hopelessly uncool! LOL!!!)

The Motorola Droid is a specific phone that uses the Android OS. The first one to run version 2, in fact. I believe Verizon sells that one?

You are still hopelessly uncool, but my daughter days I am also.

Unfortunately, yes. :)

Why haven't people developed brand loyalty to their phones in the same way as they have to their cameras and their computers?

I was hoping to at *least* see a 'Palm Pre rocks!' or perhaps a 'Windows Mobile sux!' in here. :(

btw, Samsung Jet FTW!

You are right. It is unfair to leave mobile phones out of the fray. Once I confirm there are a significant number of Android owners, I will start a flame war with the IPhone folks.

Hey spiff... You can root your G1 and install that new version of droid on your G1... I'm going to do that soon. In order to do it, you have to have a class 6 memory card though, because you can run all the apps from the microSD.. Anyway, I rooted my G1 the week I got it, best thing I ever did. I used the WIFI tether the whole week while out of town, and the wireless bluetooth transfer is the bomb, because my mac has bluetooth. SOOO... I just download music with iMusic, then beem it over to my Mac... Freakin Sweet!!! by the way, if you don't have iMusic, you are seriously missing out!

I've been thinking about rooting it so I can tether it to my netbook for internet access.

I'll check out Imusic. Is it a standalone app, or a service? I have Pandora on my G1, which I already listen to a lot at home.

iMusic is a freebie in the marketplace... Just type in an artist or song, and download... I made the mistake of telling my wife about this, now she is downloading songs like a madwoman...

I've noticed with my Samsung Jet I'm using it for the following;

1) Sat Nav
2) P&S replacement
3) Camcorder
4) Web browser / email
5) Making calls

In that order!!!

I have the Droid. I love it. Can't imagine how I lived without it! I discovered yesterday that it's in the camera database here, too. I may just have to enter some shots with it. :)

Yeee Haaaa....Just took a chance and rooted my droid with Bugless Beast ROM. Got the free Barnacle wifi app from the app market. I can now hook wirelessly to my daughter's Ipod, wife's Ipad and my laptop using the internet from my phone !

Sweet! I'm stoked ! I'm actually keying this via the app !

I just use PdaNET to hook my laptop to my phone. But then I'm not into the wireless iPod thing... may have to look at that. Droids are indeed kinda fun!

The camera is good as long as the light is good. Get some weak light and pic degrades.

On the other hand, my last 4 shots avg about 5.2 I'd like to see if I can beat that with the droid.
