In 587 the S in SAN needs repair. Other than that, they are OK. (except for 584...it needs more lighting in the hollow part of the tree, and 582.. I don't see any walkway lighting which could be dangerous when it gets later in the day, and 580, there is no handicap parking signs, and 586, there is no sign of a safety harness or net.) Three of them appear to have been taken at night, one with a featureless sky and the two pathway pics, well, the paths just seem to end without really going anywhere. The first bridge shot(is that the Golden Gate Bridge? nevermind, how silly of me, much too low) that's not your thumb in the lower left is it?
I hope these comments were helpful. Have a great New Year. PS....Always name your photos. PPS...To see how well you did on manual, set your cam to auto and compare.

Generally speaking-- they all seem a little dark. However, it was night/evening so that may be the look you were going for. The redwood stream could use something with a little more texture in the foreground-or, an angle from more the edge of the stream would give you better diagonals and receding lines.

I like the shot of the GG bridge-- classic view but always nice.

I like the old stump. Your composition makes the opening look like a portal into another world. Could use a little more detail in the shadow areas IMO.

What was your white balance setting on these? They are very warm.

Here's a few random thoughts; hopefully not too blunt:

Stream: If it weren't for the name, it was not clear that this is a picture of a stream, as opposed to a path in the woods. It is dark and the foreground is unclear. There is a little sense of deep woods enchantment, though -- nice.

Path: Interesting photo. Colors and lightness seem a little off. Also the horizon is disturbingly not horizontal. Lack of detail in the shadows is a negative.

1081: Way too dark in the interior of the tree. I believe the inside of the tree actually has a burned out look to it, but none of that is apparent in the photo. You've lost some important details.

Union Square: Nice.

Bridge: Beautiful, including the sky. Check your white balance. Too bad about that fence thing in the foreground, its distracting.

Ready...: Nice shot. There's a story here, just don't yet know what it is.

Keep shooting!

I really appreciate the time you have taken to critique and they are very helpful.

Stream/Path/1081:
Actually that day it was too dark in the Muirwood forest and I did not have my tripod. I used the bars on the sides of the walkway to try making the image stable since I had to take the shots at very slow shutter speed. It was an excellent learning experience for me that day and your comments will help me improve my shooting.
